Codename i876: An i860 board inside an i870

Called the i876 because it is mostly i870 parts with an i860 motherboard inside.

So does anybody know if an i860 motherboard will fit an i870 lcd ribbon connector and an i870 rear speaker connector? And still function properly?
    Has anybody tried this yet?

I just wanted to know this before I buy the parts.

    Thank you

What I would really like to do is get an i870 board in an i860!
I am looking to take over a former *Centennial Wireless* Account that was converted to *VERIZON*. Preferably one with a data card, but I won't discriminate if it's a voice plan with a dumbphone/smartphone/whatever. If it's a former Centennial Account and is now a VERIZON account, but still has the Centennial Plan on it, then I AM INTERESTED!

    I have an i876
What you're thinking of would be better named the i865

... it can probably be done but you will need an i860 screen and ribbon as well

THIS IS NOT ME OR MY WORK

    http://www.nextelmodz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22183
ok really bored at the store today and my 860 needed a new housing. I had a dummy i870 i bought for $15 just sitting in my desk so this is what i made.

i had to solder on the correct ear piece cause the i860 is round and the i870 is square , then had to jump the spot light led to the correct position and dremel where the camera sits. Also dremel a small corner of the right screw indent on the board.

After getting it all together EVERYTHING works.

My camera sucks so trying to get it to show on the screen the phone model didnt work so good.

    i860 Main Board

main problems with the i860 main board working in the i870 is the fact that the top part will not fit. also the camera will not work the same.<br>
be careful with any tweaks on this matter.
