Love my 6230, but curious about what its replacement is...

Hi. I just switched from SMT 5600 to a Nokia 6230. Miss the sync with Outlook, but absolutely love this phone because of its reception. Can speak with my daughter and out of state family like they are next to me. Anyway, I know that this phone has been discontinued and I wonder what its replacement is or will be.

    Thanks in advance.

With PC Suite, you either need a data cable, IrDA USB Adapter, or a serial cable.

Thanks for the input. As for Outlook, I do have a cable and Nokia suite, but I have found that I can't sync all my tasks (long list) and calendar, maybe I don't have enough room and when I go to sync my Dell Pocket Pc, the pc entries get all messed up, so I am loath to sync my phone. Any input on this issue would be appreciated too.

    Thanks again.

I haven't had any trouble with Nokia's PC app and syncs to the 6230 - I keep my contact and calendar on Outlook, and sync daily with the phone.

    No issues.

I use Bluetooth but don't think that would matter.

I guess officially the 6230i is the replacement but no plans for a "b" version for the North American market. If my 1900 coverage here in the LA area is good enough on Cingular I just might get one myself. I really like the 1.3MP camera!

Has anyone seen the 6235i coming for Verizon? Same features as the 6230i but better looking case IMHO.

I have not had any issues syncing anything from Outlook into my phone. I have a quite a large address book and notes section. The task list I try to keep down. Just make sure that you set the program so that Outlook overrides the phone during syncing so that you do not jeopardize your Outlook data. Shouldn't hurt anything to try then.

Hey, just want to let you all know that I worked out the sync problems between Outlook and PC suite and I love it. I even have some short notes that I can keep on my phone. May not go back to my pocket pc for some time!
