Haywood I am having the same error I am at R4A11. I checked like 3 weeks ago and I was able to check with no problems. Must be SE site because now I am getting an error when checking.

good to hear..... not to say good youre having problems too but good that its not just me hallucinating.
oh and SE's response to the issue was so vague that its not worth mentioning. hopefully htey fix it back to where it just states that there are no newer updates available instead of making us think that we are no longer supported.

I get the same 'not supported' error with my new p910a. 162005/8 here. I'm a new user, so I thought I had done something wrong!
Is there a changelog type listing of what is updated at each release? I currently have R3A04 and want to know aboutt he new goodies!

I still can't update. I emailed SE support - or as they should be called "Masters of passing the Buck" - and this is what they said:
This message is in response to your question about using the Sony
Ericsson Update Service for your P910a. It does not appear that CDA162005/8
is supported by the service. Different network operators provide
different customized software versions for the device and the update is only
supported if that specific version has been authorized by the carrier.
The number you entered, CDA162005/8, is a correctly formated code but
is not supported.
Can anyone help? Is every United States Cingular customer never allowed to update their firmware? (I bought mine unlocked from SE themselves)

I have a question, can any body tell me if i could flash/flex my P910i as with any other phone, so i could get 850Mhz band and EDGE instead of GPRS?

Heard back again from SE, and this was interesting:
"Please contact your service provider to be sure that they didn't lock
your phone to their service."
Can Cingular lock a phone they didn't sell? I thought they couldn't....

I updated mine today....Fairly smooth update with no hassles.
It updated me to the R5A02...Not sure how new this is but the one that was on here was not this one.

i'm having an issue trying to update, it tells me thaa my service provider doesn't alowe me to update the software, I have a P910i, unlock, what service provider are they talking about?

Updated the firmware is now CDA162005/8, my p910a now can not connect to the network. Called SE support they said try an update next week, or send it in to be restored to its original firmware. The update service will not let me restore. Says no service for this operator.

Is 162005/8 still blocked? Does anyone know what provider this CDA# corresponds to? I see /7 and /9 are working now. But my unlocked /8, which I bought from LetsTalk, not from an operator, still gives me a message about being blocked my my operator. What a BS...

Can somebody tell me whats the new adds in the update? Whats the difference and what will the result be of the new version of update. Apart from that the phone will do better.
Somebody who knows list all the news in the update if its present of Sony Ericsson what the news is.
