can you buy a boost phone and use it for nextel?

Could I go into a store and buy a Boost phone and the call Nextel and have it unlocked for use on my Nextel account?

nah, i dont think u can call nextel and have them activate it.

u must take your codeplug to a forum or other web site and have somone unlock it for nextel for you. (sometimes charging a fee)

i know for a fact pcs4lessllc does it, but i think they charge somewhere around $5

    ok.

get a program called iden rss (google it), i think. and ur gonna need a usb to phone cable. (about $30 unless nextel gave u one for free)

then use this program to load, then save your codeplug. its very easy to do. then you will be able to email it to whoever is gonna unlock it for you.

then, when u get your new codeplug back from the unlocker, u simply load it onto your phone using the same program.

The above does not apply to the Boost i830, and I suspect probably the new Boost i860.
