my nextel i730 has also been having problems with that too. It seems I won't receive any messages until 2am-5am, all at once. It happens with any provider that sends them to me also...

I am having an issue with sending text messages to Nextel customers. The messages are delayed from anywhere from 1-24 hours. I am posting this in the T-mo category because my friends with Nextels say that they can get texts from other services (i.e. Spring) with no problems. This was never an issue in the past. (I am talking about Nextel customers that have a text messaging plan, not just the included 5 cents per incoming text or whatever it is). I will also post this in the Nextel category. Any suggestions on this issue would be appreciated!!
Thanks

I have called nextel like 2 weeks ago they said its something on t-mobile side I am having the same problems but not other carriers just t-mobile
THERE ARE MANY THREADS ABOUT THIS ISSUE!
Im having the same ×××× problem, and I dont pay for the text messaging for this BS.
A friend of mine sent me a message at 2:48AM yesterday and I didn't get it until 11:30AM yesterday. She has service w/ T-Mobile.

I just called cc and they said that they're currently "working on it." like many of you, i recieve texts usually around 3am--and not just from tmo but verizon as well. I'm sure It's the same case with att. And i thought it was almost impossible for texting to get worse with nextel...
where are the forums located that have already addressed the text msg issues. I am searching and have been unsuccessful so far.
This is not only T-mobile. I am having the same problem with Verizon. This has been going on in my area for about 2 months or more.
try "texting"--I found a couple earlier with that. No one is really sure what the problem is exactly, as it stands. Nextel wants to blame the other carriers and many people feel as if its Nextel's problem. There was a similar issue with MSN Hotmail not too long ago, where it took well over two months for the problem to be worked out, and it was MSN's fault, and not Nextel's. Nextel does deal with text messages differently (through the web) than other carriers, and maybe, in some way, this causes problems with some, if not all carriers. Who knows....![]()

I also experience it with Cricket, however T-mobile messages are guaranteed to come 12 hours late. others are normally 30 mins-3 hours.
Thanks for the response Jeff.
All the people I know with other carriers do not have any problems receiving their text msg, only Nextel.
I personally think it has something to do with the way Nextel's service handles the messages--and I'm not quite sure why Nextel chose to have text's show up as browswer messages (anyone out there know the answer to this question???). In reality, this situation could be both Nextel and the other providers' faults, but like I said, who really knows.Originally posted by churp

Same here. My EX sent me a text last Saturday but I didn't get it till 3AM. I am thinking she sent it earlier than that but I didn't reply to find out.
Also, My friend on US Cellular doesn't recieve any of my texts at all.

I've been having these issues for a while now, not just with other carriers, but messages sent via **********@messaging.nextel.com. I've called on several occasions and never gotten anywhere. It's very inconvenient since some of my network monitoring systems mail to that address as opposed to dialing to the IXO/TAP. If it's not remedied by december I'm going to have to switch.Originally posted by scubby11
