ex Tmobile user... want to come back after a very bad experience with Verizon

I jumped ships a few months ago. I decided to go to Verizon based on the awesome features that were advertised for their new Motorola V710, when it still was in beta testing period. Now, the phone SUCKS... it's crippled as hell and I've decided that I want to dump it. Also, the features that do work aren't very good either and you get charged for pretty much everything, so, I'm saying bye bye to Verizon too.

TMobile was very good to me, but their phone selection wasnt/isnt the best around. I used to have a Samsung SGH-S105, a very good phone, but not very rich in features.

Here's were you guys can help. I need advice on which phone to get. I don't care about camera phones. I'd like to have very good reception, a user friendly interface, a completely unlocked and customizable feature set (data transfer, ringtones, wallpapers, etc) and a solid construction (can survive a few falls).

Thanks in advance for your help guys.

    Regards,
    D24

The Nokia 6800 is a dual band (900/1800) so it will work quite internationally.

it's not worth to pay THAT money to get V710
if you'd like to get bt, simply buy T730 and moto bt adaptor (just 40 at radioshack)

if you play SMS like crazy, get 6800 or sidekick 2
bt: 3660 is 3 band, qd is the cheapest S60 phone, V600 is fine

or simply buy an unlocked moto V525, E398 or SE K710i

Is the Moto V600 from TMobile unlocked?

Can I transfer mp3 ringtones, wallpapers, screen savers, etc. from my PC to the phone using either a bluetooth adapter or the Moto USB cable?.

    TIA for your answers.

If you wait a certain amount of time, t-mobile will unlock your phone for free and yes you can transfer anything in your phone with a data cable.

Bluetooth limits you on what you can do.

    i.e.Flashing your phone.

OK. Now, in the event of buying one of these phones from places like Amazon.com, Buy.com or LetsTalk.com (to enjoy their great deals and save some dough), can I later have my phone unlocked at a mom & pop's store?.

there're several stores sell "no setting" phones (means unlocked and no specific setting for certain provider)
    myworldphones.com (on the banner)
    plemix.com
unlocked phones are different from no setting phones, the latter gives you totally freedom to use on ANY provider, as long as the frequency supports
