I'm not sure whether VoNR was enabled before, but now it can be disabled separately from 5G SA if the carrier bundle enables that option.

Maybe Boost's DISH rollout too?
Still interesting to see that option being enabled. I would not be surprised to see T-Mobile reading VoNR for public use within the next year or two, given their head start launching SA.
What I wish Verizon would do is throw us all a bone and let us know when SA will be actually enabled for all of us to use. =)

Verizon was not the first with VoLTE either. The newer devices can do VoNR. Voice uses low bandwidth so mo need for Verizon to downgrade coverage on voice. One day when 5G NR coverage is better and Verizon winds down LTE then I could see VoNR being utilized and eventually being the standard. Im not sure if NR improves latency or not but it would weaken coverage for now.
VoNR will allow for the use of SA during calls. The avoidance of EPS fallback will be the other benefit.
There won’t be a reduction in coverage. Areas without VoNR support will use EPS fallback to LTE or 5G NSA, and VoLTE. The catch with SA without VoNR is that call setup times take a hit, similar to CSFB between LTE and UMTS during that generational shift.
VoNR will also help capacity by offloading voice traffic to more efficient 5G channels. I know voice calls don't use anywhere near as much data as streaming video, but it all adds up, and every little bit helps — especially in emergency situations where EVERYONE is trying to make phone calls, and being able to handle phone calls with n41 & n77 would bring enough voice capacity to allow every single user to be on an active voice call simultaneously.
VoNR on Verizon will take awhile to implement and I doubt we see it for awhile. Iphones have satellite S band for emergencies in the 14 and 15 models and satellite on regular mobile frequencies will also come out in coming years. Verizon still has to phase in more 5G nationwide for VoNR to be a reality. It doesn’t meet their operational needs now just like VoLTE took awhile as well ad the nationwide 700Mhz LTE network had to be deployed. It will happen but at a later date. Just look at their coverage map and there are still gaps where 5G doesn’t exist yet.
Hmm. I have a 14 pro and I don't have this toggle on either of my lines, verizon business unlimited pro 2.0 or t-mobile business unlimited ultimate. Allegedly the 14 pro supports VoNR.
Which tmobile carrier bundle do you have? I've got verizon 55.1 and tmobile 55.0.
No iPhones older than the 15 have added the VoNR toggle, presumably because the X70 modem empirically performs better in weak 5G signal conditions and also supports 4x aggregation of 5G frequency range 1 channels.
FWIW SA toggle appeared on my VZW settings. I have 14pro max on 17.1 beta

Non beta on the 14 pro is 17.0.2
Considering it took Verizon Fios over 10 years to roll out IPv6 and was silent the entire time on their progress, I wouldn’t hold my breath on them being forthcoming unless there was a way to market it to boost sales, and considering the average customer isn’t going to see a tangible difference between NSA and SA they probably won’t. If you’re thinking that VoNR would be that tangible difference, remember that even T-Mobile…the company that loves to boast… is saying they hope no one notices their switch to VoNR. https://www.fiercewireless.com/5g/t-...erence-5g-vonr
