Agreed. No word yet on actual network launch. Much discussion over on Reddit.

Specifically, the iPhone 14 series running iOS 17 and the Verizon carrier bundle version 55.1. However, neither I nor anybody I've seen has seen Verizon 5G SA confirmed in Field Test Mode, despite being enabled in Settings.

I wouldn't expect to see SA on VZ until EOY, early next year. Just because it's enabled in firmware, doesn't mean its launching yet. I've seen n5/n77 SA in Service Mode for a long time here, but it's from their FWA and not from consumer device testing. Android devices can see the SA carrier and map on Cellmapper, but their phone won't register on the network. It's ridiculous how many new threads were started on Reddit from it being enabled on iOS and not actually spotted for consumer use. On AT&T firmware, my S23 Ultra has had SA enabled for a few months but can't connect to their SA network either even though it is opening up to more consuner devices 😬
All good points. But I wonder, why now? Verizon specifically went out of their way to release carrier update 55.1 specifically with the public launch of iOS 17 I’ve been on the iOS 17 beta for several months now and have been running carrier update version 55.0, which did not include the SA network toggle. Verizon could’ve launched iOS 17 with the same carrier 55.0 update. But they specifically chose to rev it to 55.1 and add the toggle.
We shall see . . .

There was a part on their website that specially mentioned the toggle showing up with iOS17 but it not doing anything because they said they haven’t enabled it yet. They said it was “coming soon”![]()

I suspect Verizon will only support SA on the iPhone 14 and above.
While the X60 could support it, I have a feeling Verizon intends to hold that functionality back for the X65 and above. I wouldn't have thought a 3x NR CA minimum would matter on Verizon's network (10x10 n5+100 MHz of n77 would likely do just fine in most areas), but they may have already done the testing and decided that they want combos with more bandwidth. Perhaps they want everyone to be able to use both n77 carriers at the same time in combination with a low-band or lower mid-band for stability, which would only be possible with the X65 and higher.
