reports are that Apple will be releasing a software update to lower the radiation emissions, i would suspect this will liely effect wireless performance.

would be interesting if this actually helps Apple with people upgrading earlier than they would otherwise to move to newer models without the safety concerns.

How is this relevant to more modern iPhones now that Apple is releasing the iPhone 15? It's odd that Apple would attempt to make an upgrade to the iPhone 12 now.
    Just another day in paradise.....

I had read that if apple does not fix this, they would require Apple to recall the iPhone 12s in that country.

OK, I can accept that explanation, although it is a little late now after 3 years or so. I would imagine that many of those older handsets may not be in use any longer. I do understand that outside the US, many users don't replace their phones as often as we do in the US.

That is good that she appreciates the phone, I was just stating that most Americans simply update their devices more frequently than in most countries worldwide. Nothing wrong with hand-me-down phones if they still work.

We don't replace any less frequently

just stay 3-4 years behind on the ones that cost over $50-100, and especially the crazy pricey flagships

except when great deals come along, which only happens with Androids

things change, but when i lived in Europe in the 1990's seemed people kept everything longer than here in the US. on the other hand though they were also likely to spend more and get the newest, latest and greatest. once they did they kept it for a long time though.

I use an iPhone 11, purchased new in 2019, and it works really well. The primary “limitation” is no 5G radios, but I don’t really need all that speed and so far it hasn’t negatively affected coverage on Consumer Cellular’s ATT network here.
Trying to come up with some sort of signature line...

My 12 Pro has been good, supports 5G (though not the latest updates), and except for the battery being down to 81% is working fine. And it still has a physical SIM.
iPhone 12 Pro is my current phone I carry.

As well she sould be. I'm still delighted with my SE 2nd generation and gave my SE 1st generation to my sister-in-law. Granted, we don't use a lot of apps or watch sporting events on our phones. My wife, on the other hand, needs a good phone so I recently upgraded her from the 6S Plus to the 12 Pro Max. I told her that if she ever needs a new iPhone, she is welcome to stop and buy one on the way home from my funeral.

Why stop at the 12? I don't believe this is an aberration.
