    pSIM To eSIM

I have a Connect line on a physical SIM that I want to move to eSIM on a Samsung S22+. If I do a search online, the instructions refer to postpaid accounts and is even automated but would involve the My T-Mobile app, which doesn't work for prepaid accounts.

Has anyone done this on Prepaid and what is the best method, in-store, by phone, or by chat?

If you google "t-mobile prepaid esim android reddit":

    https://old.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel...repaidconnect/

    https://old.reddit.com/r/NoContract/...epaid_connect/

It sounds like if at first you are told your Android device is not compatible, try, try again.

I've typically done it via calling in. Chat tends to always funnel me to postpaid support and then is useless. Call using a different line if you can and they'll either send you a QR code via email (typically was the go-to in 2020-2022) or can push it via IMEI (what happened most recently for me). I've done it on an iPhone, so they might handle the S22+ a bit differently.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I decided to use the eSIM in my Pixel 7, instead. I called in (on a separate line) and was helped by a very nice woman. She asked for the account PIN number, then the IMEI of the phone. I gave her the IMEI2 because I had a different pSIM using IMEI1. She had difficulty looking up the phone with that, so asked for the EID. She also made sure I had the phone on WiFi.

I didn't have the EID listed in Settings > About Phone, so she suggested looking in the settings of the phone dialer. I found it, and she verified it as a Pixel 7, then sent a confirmation code to the line in the old phone. She also sent a different confirmation code to the account email.

She then pushed the download of my eSIM profile to the Pixel 7 (there was no QR code involved). She was a bit off on the order of steps to get the profile installed, but I figured it out OK. Over all, she had a pretty good knowledge of eSIM for the different brands of phones.

She was quite personable with smalltalk while waiting for the install process to complete, congratulated me on my new phone and thanked me for being a T-Mobile customer. When done, we tested text, calls, and data, plus she verified my plan, account balance, and cycle date.

All-in-all, it was a fairly pleasant experience of around 20 minutes or so. I was prepared with my info, both phones on WiFi, and the account email opened on my PC.
