So the Manage Lines should be the zip code attached to that phone number.
Thank you! I went to Manage Lines but then got a page saying "Something Went Wrong" so I clicked on Chat and got a TF rep instantly and simply asked them what the zip code is on file and after sending a security code via text to ensure it was my account, I was given a zip code all they way in MIami lol.

I had to Google where the heck 33178 was because I had no clue and I don't know why that zip was in my file. In any case, I went back to Tello port page and entered that and the status is now showing as "In Progress" with completion date estimated for 5/26.

Thanks for the advice....all this batty tech stuff can drive you nuts!

Miami/Medley, FL is where TF HQ is. If you created a TF account but never filled in your complete address, TF system puts the Miami zip code 33178 in there. Sometimes, TF system/rep mucks around and changes the zip code to 33178.

Are you aware you just thru away all your service and time on that account, once the port goes thru.

I've ordered phones from their website through my account in the past so they had my address with zip code on file. Maybe a rep changed it who knows? I'm just glad it's done and really appreciate all the help given here by all. Thanks!

Just wanted to update that my regular 321 area code number was showing on my phone and in my Tello account. Thanks to everyone who helped me. It's much appreciated!

    Oh you sweet summer child...

    Anything is possible with Tracfone.

It is very common for their system to insert the zip code of their Miami HQ or just something random into user / phone profiles.

It affects nothing IRL, just a user verification data point but you often need it in order to do anything with the line, not least porting out the number.

Fortunately it is easy to find out, as outlined above

I thought the port out was unsuccessful? Should mean everything is as it was.

But if indeed the line shows as INACTIVE

FYI it might come back if you reactivate it with a new SIM, might need a $15 plan.

But it's unpredictable not really supposed to

at least after some time has passed.

You mentioned having trouble hearing but other things you have written make me think that you have no trouble speaking for yourself. That makes me think you may be interested in an app that I have loved using for years. It automatically captions your calls on your cell phone so you can read what is being said to you. There are quite a few features with it so please really go through the information on the following site and feel free to ask questions afterwards.

I never heard of that but will definitely check it out. Thanks. I don't make too many calls but when I do I use T Mobile Relay, but this looks like a good alternative.

When i'm out and about, I use a voice transcription app called "Live Transcribe" and it has made life SO much easier when communicating with people. It's like 99% accurate and the words pop up in real time as the person is speaking. It's been a God send for me!

I have not had T-Mobile for years having switches when AT&T had coverage somewhere I was going regularly and T-Mobile did not at that time. I have within the last few months gone to T-Mobile's 5G Home Internet though. I am not getting the speeds that some are but it has done everything I asked of it.

Remember that InnoCaption can be setup to automatically forward incoming calls to your InnoCaption number from your regular cell number and they come in captioned. So . . .it is not just handy for making calls but for receiving them.

Live Transcribe is something that I have depended on for several years and see no sign of a reason to not continue. I find it VERY helpful.
