    Moving to Visible

I decided to move back to Visible after a successful trial period. I had dropped them about 2 years ago because most calls were going straight to VM but the new network/core seems to be drastically improved and I have not had a single call to VM. I looked in the referral forum and have not seen anything current but the first person to PM me a referral code will get a signup. I will post in here when I have one. TIA.

Edit: I have a referral code. Thanks

Visible moving back to the Verizon core has really improved their service reliability.

I moved to Visible over 1.5 months ago(Visible+). I was previously on Verizon Prepaid. And prior to that on Verizon Postpaid. In my area, DC area, my experience has been the same with all of those. Which is to say it's been rock solid.

With Visible+ though, I now have access to 5G UWB. So I've been able to get over 1.3Gbps download speeds in DC. And at home, in the NorthernVA suburbs, I'll typically get around 500Mb/s download speeds. For $35 a month it is a superb deal.

Visible is very location dependent for how good their services are. My area is HEAVILY Verizon and my Visible service was far better on the Cloud Core than it is now. Which is to say, I never experienced data slowdowns like I do now. Only lost service when data in the whole area was down, etc.

Now that it's on the Verizon Core, the deprioritization is sometimes unusable.

Considering the OP's comments are on the voice and text service, the point is still very valid. The old core had numerous problems with call and text reliability. It was a running joke with how bad it was.

Well that was a quick round trip for me as I am back on Mint Mobile. I guess I didn't flex the trial period enough. Once I ported over I found that my calls dropped in my buildings elevator, calls were still be missed and I had this weird glitch where every once in a while my phone would go into SOS mode. None of this happened in my prior 2 years with Mint. I really wanted Visible to work but I am not going to pay double for unreliable service. I am really surprised by this. I do live about a mile from the airport so I wonder if the 5G interference issues is contributing to my problems? May give them a try in another couple of years but so far, Mint has actually been solid for me and the 5GB plan for $15 plus tax works great for me.

    Moving to Visible

I have read reports (and know people personally say) that Verizon's 5G network, particularly the DSS ‘Nationwide’ network, has intermittent connectivity issues. LTE seems to stay stable though, and I have seen that on my MVNO SIM on Verizon (the device that uses the SIM can’t get 5G).

This is why the test plans are a good idea. Good that you that figured out before going too far into a new plan.

Have you ever used any Verizon network carrier prior to your first try with Visible ?
Your issues with your first and latest try sound more like Verizon isn't a candidate for where you live.

Agree. Visible worked fine for me when I lived in the country and I had been on Verizon for 8 years before switching over to Visible. When I moved to the city I started having the problem with dropped calls and calls straight to VM. I was hoping that the move to the Verizon core would have fixed this issues. At first it seemed it did, but once I ported over and started to use more heavily, it was obvious it hadn't. I live less than 1 mile from the Mall of America and MSP International Airport, coverage should not be an issue. I also have the most recent iPhone so it is pretty clear there is some sort of network issue that is confined to my area. Mint Mobile (T-Mobile) has actually been rock solid here so I guess I will be with them for a while. I had at&t on a work line that has since transitioned to Verizon but I hardly use it and when I do, its on WiFi calling.

Do you know anyone local who had the same problem with Verizon coverage as you did? I know coverage is location dependent but it seems to me that Verizon should have better coverage where you are. I mean like you said, "I live less than 1 mile from the Mall of America and MSP International Airport". I know you ruled it out but I wonder if isn't really your iphone Verizon's antenna is wonky.

The issue is congestion, VZW just is plain oversold in lots of densely populated areas.

I assume they can throw money at the issues, but at some point that must cause entire areas to operate at a loss.

I had a similar problem with Visible (old core) on an iPhone 12 which is why I dropped it when I moved to my new location. It worked fine at my rural area. On Mint the service is stellar so it's definitely something with Verizon, not the phone. I live in a mid-rise and face south so maybe picking up a tower across the river in Eagan? I really wanted Visible to work, but am happy that Mint does. I WFH so have great WiFi and don't use much data so the price of Mint can't be beat. Had V+ worked, it would that would be a great price too.
