Correct. This is the easiest fix and doesn't require customer service.

When doing a transfer of phone number and service from an active Tracfone to an inactive phone using the website, does it normally ask for zip code where the phone will be used?

Ok. I was suspicious it was trying to change my number. Otherwise, why ask for location if the number isn't changing?

Could be the way their system is set up.

In the old days they would claim to be helping you decide which network to be on.

    Nowadays they only push VZW.

If you give a zip where VZW has no service that may increase the odds of them allowing you to use ATT or TMO

for a few more months anyway

I followed KaZZoo's advice and transferred the phone number and service to a 3rd phone. I waited a day and then successfully transferred the phone number and service from my S5 to the A53 using the website. The A53 is still using it's original sim card. TMFL is still available on the A53 as well. Everything is working fine. Now I just need to figure out the best way to transfer contacts and everything else from my S5 to the A53. Thanks everyone!

Use the Samsung Smartswitch app. Should already be installed on the A53. Install it on the S5 if not already installed. Run it on both phones, transfer by Wifi or a USB cable. It's very good at transferring everything over (call log, texts, contacts, files, apps, settings, etc). When it says COMPLETE on the sending phone (S5), you can stop the app on that phone but let the app run on the receiving phone because it'll need time to repopulate the texts, settings, apps, etc.

I used Samsung Smartswitch to transfer from my S7 to my A51 and A53. It worked really well. It even put app icons in the same places on my homescreen.

I also used it to transfer from my S7 to a Moto G Power, it didn't seem to work as smoothly between the different brand of phones but it got done eventually.

That's one thing I like about using Smartswitch between two Samsung phones. You get almost an exact clone on the receiving phone once the transfer was completed, including phone settings and most of the apps' contents.
