Using Rewards points for another line

Has anyone been able to use rewards in an account for a line in another account lately? Buy airtime for a friend doesn't work for me. Also, I've tried removing the target phone from it's account, and try to move it to the donor account, but adding a line doesn't work. It doesn't allow me to add an existing line in that account. Is that because there is already a line in the account? When I try to put the target phone back on it's original account, I get the option to Merge an existing line which works fine. But nothing lets me use the points in one account for another line.

Add Airtime for a Friend usually works on the iOS app. You may have to enter IMEI of device.

I was able to buy a $15 plan for line in other account the other day on website but seems doesn't work for others.

Thanks, unfortunately I'm android all the way and adding online through the donor account results in error also.

What error are you getting? After removing the target phone from it's account, you go into the receiving account, select Manage Lines, select Add A Line button at the top. A popup should say: Security Verification, Select how you would like to receive your code. Then you select the line already on that account to receive a security code.

After that is done, you should be able to say you want to use an existing number. After entering that number, it will send a code to that phone and then perform the move.

Thanks, I get to that point where you said it has to send a security code to the phone already in the account. I haven't done that because I don't have the phone, and my MIL doesn't always get the code in time. I'll have to let her know it's coming. I'm trying to use the points before her number gets ported to Assurance. I assume once the existing line is ported out, the account will remain for a little while before getting shut down?

It says in the Rewards Program Terms & Conditions:
"All Points you have earned will be forfeited if your TracFone Account is inactive for sixty (60) or more consecutive days. You may be eligible to keep your Points if you reactivate your Account within sixty (60) days following the forfeiture of your points."

So theoretically you should be good for 60 days, based on my understanding of this paragraph. Hope this helps.

Edited to add: I read the paragraph again. Maybe it *doesn't* say that the account will stay active for 60 days. That page also says "You must remain an active TracFone customer to have access to the Program and any Points you accumulate."

Thank you. As soon as the phone is ported out, I'll move the other phone in and use the points. I don't think it goes away that quickly.

MyAccounts can have 5 devices / lines at once

One if them is the "anchor" line, and if you are going to have inactive devices that's fine but I would definitely keep at least one active at all times.

    Ideally the anchor line.

They will use any excuse to strip out your RPs
