Removing Phone Number from Kin Phone

Not sure if the Microsoft-Sharp Kin phones belong in this subforum.

I am having trouble removing the phone number from my old Kin Two before I get rid of it. Has anyone found a secret way of removing the phone number as Verizon seems to have hard coded it to the device?

That might be a tough one. The phone is currently incompatible with US carriers (big 3, Verizon, T-Mobile, At&t) and has a proprietary operating system. Here is a link to the related Wikipedia article: https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=18d4f...NzLiUyMA&ntb=1.

To be honest, the phone should probably just be destroyed to prevent unauthorized access to your personal information at this point. Remove the battery and recycle it and drill holes into the device to make it unusable. No carrier will activate this device in the US. It may only hold value for someone who collects old phones but otherwise it is not much more useful than a paperweight or a door stop.
    Just another day in paradise.....

    Hi,
i think that to remove the phone number from your Kin Two, you will need to contact Verizon customer support and request that they deactivate the device and release the phone number. Once the device has been deactivated and the number released, the number should no longer be associated with the device. If you're having trouble getting in touch with Verizon, you can try visiting a local Verizon Wireless store or searching for Verizon support online.

I seriously doubt that customer service reps will have access to the user guide due to the age of the device. As a former CS rep for At&t, we only had access to the user guide for devices about 5 years old. There is zero user support for discontinued devices like this one. Especially with proprietary operating systems.

This is a spambot or someone with too much time on their hands copying and pasting responses from ChatGPT, which often don't make a lot of sense. All the posts by this moriischristian are like that. I'll leave it up to the mods to decide what to do with this user.
