16GB 12-month for $300 how happy are you who have it?

I ran speed tests directly. If you are happy with Cricket that is fine. You might as well save money. But if you run actual speed tests on same towers with same device, AT&T Prepaid has faster speeds. Im not sure if its a hard speed cap on Cricket or exactly how they work it. In my tests, AT&T Prepaid was always faster. NYC has 5G+ coverage for both Cricket and AT&T Prepaid. Subtier brands like Cricket, MetroPCS and Visable have worse speeds and performance than their regular brands but can include more features and lower pricing..

I'm actually on AT&T Prepaid these days because it is a better deal for all the features I want. I was just trying to point out that it might not feel any faster than what bricks1343 currently has.

Right. If you aren’t doing anything data intensive you won’t notice a difference usually.

To take advantage of much of the 5G+ mid-band spectrum AT&T has, you will need an iPhone 14 or certain newer Android device based on what I've read. I see 5G+ on my 14 in places where my wife's 13 does not. Not sure if she's ever seen 5G+ on her 13 TBH. She does see 5G though, so if you're not seeing that on the 13 Pro, then it isn't turned on yet.

I don't know if anything actually changed or if they just changed the nomenclature. FWIW, I don't do anything on my phone that requires much speed and rarely use more then 1Gb of my data per month, so it's not a big deal for me.

The Pixel 6a should display 5G+ at times when using AT&T mid-band spectrum. If you purchased it from AT&T it will also do mmWave 5G. The unlocked version will not do mmWave 5G.

I see the trick here that could have allowed me to save the money. Calling support to have the online account setup.

My issue is that, when I tried, it wanted to send a code to my new phone number. I could not receive that number until I put the SIM card in the phone. Which immediately triggered the CC charge for $300+tax.

A previous time with ATT Prepaid didn't do this. I was able to login to the account and put money in it. But that wasn't for the annual plan.

I now have $300 worth of these e-card numbers to use in 11 months to renew for another year.

I am going to be switching to this plan from Mint at the end of this month. In the past you had to order a physical SIM so you would need to sign up ahead of time. I have an eSim. Does the service go live as soon as you sign up for it or do you still need to "activate" it?

When I went the pSIM route and new number, it went live the moment I started the phone with the SIM inserted. It also charged my CC at that time.

Even if they don’t most phone have some calendar app you could put it in.

If it's like a monthly plan, autopay text is sent 10 days & 2 days before.
