    Renewal and buying time

I have an iPhone SE on the account expiring in 30 days
I have a couple of Flip phones that I added expiring in a year.
Total 25k points pending as expected.

Want to make sure don't lose the 20k AALs. The iPhone SE is currently on 500/500/500 for the first month at $15. Just want to make sure I get another 31+ days (probably more like 35+ days since i activated the flip phones a few days later).

Question is: what does everyone recommend in terms of the renewal for the iPhone SE? Should I do the $19.99 card from Target et all for 60 minutes 90 days, or should I just do another couple of months of 500/500/500 for $15x2=$30?

It sounds like for $10 more (for the two months), i get a lot more min/msg/data if I go the $15 plan route.

Thoughts? (If I renew now, does it add a 30 days from today or add a 30 days from when my current plan expires?)

If you have use for the talk/text/data units on the SE, then use two $15 cards. If you only need the service days for the pending points to vest, then use the $19.99 card.

Adding a time card at any time will extend the current service end day by the number of days of the card.

Do not forget the airtime must cover the 60 days required to qualify for unlocking the phone if that is your plan. The 60 days for unlocking begins the day the phone was activated. The AAL vesting and the ability to unlock beginning at 12:01 am Eastern on the 61st day.
I-phones unlock automatically, but Androids require you to enter codes yourself.

I paid for the cheapest 30 day plan for my free phone from rewards, and AAL points are pending. I need another 31 days for the points to vest? Is the cheapest way to add 31 days to redeem 1,000 point service day rewards twice for a total of 2,000 points?

After I put in my number, the cheapest plans showing were 2,500 points for 60 days or 1,500 points for 30 days. I guess I'll have to redeem for the 60 day 2,500 point plan to get the 31 days. The AAL points won't vest with one 30 day plan?

That's correct. Next time, if you wait a few days, 5 or so, after the phone was added (the clock starts running then) to activate the phone, then you can get by with 60 days of service total.
