If I get a new phone.....sim swap?

If I get a new phone, can I just move my sim from the old phone to the new phone (assuming that the new phone is on the white list of course), or am I going to have to hassle with customer service?

Is this a locked or unlocked phone? I locked, you may want to ensure that it is updated in their system to help with future unlocking.
