You might want to look at the Twigby 1 GB, unlimited talk and text plan for $15. Runs on Verizon. I don't know if Total by Verizon will charge fees and/or taxes, but Twigby does. So their $15 plan could possibly be closer to $20, depending on where you live (mine is $18.18 with taxes and fees in a fairly low tax state, Idaho). First three months are $5 a month, HotSpot (for the total amount of your data) is included. The 4 GB plan is $20 a month (plus fees and taxes). The 7 GB plan is $25 a month (plus fees and taxes). They drop back to 2G data after your 4g/5g limit is reached.

EDIT: Oddly enough Walmart is still selling the old plans with the new Total by Verizon branding?

Looks like Verizon's Visible is a better deal. No taxes or fees. (At least a better deal for the first 10 months.)

That's a really good deal. Do they support a Hotspot? (Mostly that's all I use my data for, when the power goes out or the Internet goes down.)

According to prepaidcompare.net, hotspot is included.

You could contact Mobi to verify.

Yes, just tested with my iPad using the iPhone for hotspot.

The taxes/fees are a little high for the first gb. My last bill was $13.80.

Nice for some people is that the bill.

    I've also seen 5G+ C-band on Mobi.

On the downside, they don't support eSIM yet. So no iPhone 14 series support. Presumably they are working on it.

They are my second line on my phone for coverage when I travel through the plains/mountain states. Historically Verizon had better converage (ATT has improved), but ATT is generally better overall where I live.
iPhone 12 Pro is my current phone I carry.

Yeah that's what Twigby does. I'm currently using their 1GB, unlimited T&T plan, and (even in Idaho) the fees and taxes are $3.18 (they just jumped their "administration fee" over a dollar to about $1.60). I might look at Tracfone 2 GB plan at $15 (no taxes or fees) and (I think) the data rolls over. Or maybe do what my nephew suggests, go for the Red Pocket annual 1GB plan ($100, $8.25 a month). It doesn't have unlimited talk, but 1,000 minutes is basically "unlimited" for me.

EDIT: With a little closer look at Tracfone, I see the $15 price with autopay is only for the first two months, then up to $20 (or whatever discount they give for autopay).

    Warning!

With the takeover, the roaming agreements are not being renewed.

For now it will work as log as you can keep buying the old plan cards, but they will no longer sell you phones in areas that were served with roaming agreements by totalwireless.com. I couldn't risk losing service.

This is also why walmart dropped them in my area.

I decided to switch because of this.

There were no special roaming agreements before. Coverage maps from before and now are identical. I even think I see more coverage now in some special places like OK and AK.
    This is just pure BS.

For those interested, I was able to add a "legacy" $25 pin to my account almost a month after the announcement regarding the changes by Verizon.

Does anyone know if the PINs can be purchased from stores until 2024? Target often has buy one get second at 10/20% off or 10% of $50 deals which work out great. Hope they don't go away.

    Angry Upset customer!

Looks like you can no longer buy the legacy plan PINs at Target. They never charged tax and had frequent 5% to 10% off if you bought 2 cards. Now, Target is charging 911 fee and delivery fee in addition to the State Tax. So is Total By Verizon at their website. Looks like the good days are over and it is time to start looking for other MVNOs!

Is anyone else in the same boat? I am starting to look at Mint, US Mobile and Red Pocket. I use way less than 5GB of data but need to be able to receive texts from outside US, which was working fine with the Total Wireless $25 plan. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Try https://www.callingmart.com/ They do charge a $1 service fee but no taxes.
