Huh I was unaware AT&T Prepaid had non 5G plans post 2-22-22. I thought the sunset automatically wiped those out.
Which I had known, I would have switched from Cricket. :/

I realize that this is pretty much pure speculation at this point, but does anybody have any idea when AT&T Prepaid might allow all of their plans to use 5G?

Not all prepaid plans show 5G support. On the other hand, the $40 15GB plan I'm on has shown 5G on the phone, but doesn't show it on att.com. I only have low band in my area.
iPhone 12 Pro is my current phone I carry.
I was thinking I could have kept using my Samsung Note 10 Lite, which is infinitely better than the "free" Moto Stylus 5G I had to upgrade to. The only thing it has over my Note 10 Lite is...it's 5G access.
But, I haven't looked deeper into it, and I have a feeling the same white list applies, so it's probably moot.
Yeah, at this time 5G compatibility is irrelevant. What matters, as already mentioned, is HD Voice (VoLTE) compatibility as reflected on the AT&T whitelists.
I really want to know what people do on their phones that requires 5G (or benefits from it in any noticeable degree).
From my perspective I will care about 5G when 4G will be shutting down (not in foreseeable future).
I was attending an expo at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds today and was in nearby Roseville Minnesota, too, and I noticed that my display showed 5Ge!
Since AT&T's 3G network is shut down, I'm concerned that 4G LTE (including 5Ge, which is apparently like 4G+) is the only technology for those of us with non-unlimited plans.
I like the idea of being able to switch to alternative technology if there's a problem. (This happened to me while traveling in Maine a couple of years ago while AT&T was doing some tower upgrades, and forcing my phone from LTE to 3G got me through at the time.)
Is it worth going to Red Pocket to wait things out there?
It seems crazy that a bunch of MVNO's offer 5G on AT&T's network, when AT&T itself doesn't.
I think that, right now, ATT still uses LTE for voice. There will be 5G support at some time, depending on phone makers, etc. For instance, I don't know if the iPhone 12 will support 5G SA, but the 13 may. And as 5G only bands are deployed, there may be cases in the future where you only have 5G, not LTE.
The other option if traveling is to have a separate line on the Verizon network. Or on the same phone if has eSIM.
