    Moto G Play compatibility

I recently switched from ATT postpaid to Visible with my unlocked Moto G Power. Before switching I used the Visible IMEI checker to verify my phone was compatible. Installed the SIM and it works fine. Now I wish to switch my wife's unlocked Moto G Play to Visible but the Visible IMEI checker says her phone is not compatible. As a test I installed my working Visible SIM in her phone and it works fine. Can I assume if I order anther Visible SIM using my IMEI number for her telephone number it will work?

Edited to say my wife's phone is a Moto G Play not a Power

I don't know if they will allow you to order a SIM for an IMEI that already has an account.

Order the SIM by telling them you have an iPhone. Last I heard, they don't ask for the IMEI for iPhones. You're on your own if the SIM doesn't work.

I have also heard that you can now order the SIM at Amazon, and maybe places like Best Buy and Target.

Ordered a SIM for my wife's Moto G Play using the the IMEI from my Moto G Power. No kick back on using the same IMEI for the same phone for 2 different SIMs. When it gets here I will se if it is going to work.

zapjb, I used your friend code when I ordered my SIM, used my friend code to order my wife's SIM

Let the $5 adventure begin. The Moto G Power should definitely work. I used a G7 Power on Vis.

My first three months on Vis were occasionally bad for data. The last three months were great. This was all in the same location. I don't know why it changed. I would try them again if I needed to.

    Good luck

The end result I could not get the Moto G Play to work with Visible. I looked into adding the Visible APNs as shown on a few YouTube videos but the phone had no options to add different APNs. Gave up and bought another Moto G Power.

Must be a Verizon thing. The only way to add APNs is to put in a sim in from T-Mobile or ATT which will allow manual APN entry. (I used Red Pocket GSMT) Then you can put the Verizon sim back in & use the APN you entered manually.

I might try that and keep the phone as a spare.

Moto G Play worked fine on Verizon Postpaid since the beginning and most recently on Xfinity Mobile. Wanted to add the line to Visible but was a no go. Put in Visible SIM to "No service". This is REALLY friggin weird. Put Xfinity Mobile SIM back in -works perfect.
    What gives with Visible?

is the Moto G unlocked ?? is the phone still being used on Xfinity ?
it might've failed from working on visible may be because the phone is still active on Xfinity.

Wasn't this only the case when VZW was CDMA?

    Visible has it's own whitelist?

I believe what I encountered is the exact same situation as the OP.

The G is unlocked for sure and even if it were still active, I was porting my number over. So that is not really a credible possibility.

My assumption now is that Visible has it's own whitelist even said unlocked phone has been used with Verizon or other Verizon MVNOs which one will not know about until it is encountered. Possibly losing time and money in the process.

I think Visible has some issues which you either put up with (no phone contact, chat only) and totally compatible phones that are not allowed for whatever reason that may be. I will be passing this go around, minimally for the hardware issue.

I had an unlocked Moto G Play on Selectel (Verizon) for a few years but it would never go on VoLTE when set by Selectel or when I enabled it in my settings. Only people with TMobile ever got VoLTE to work on that phone. I upgraded to a Moto G Power that works for VoLTE. That's most likely why Visible won't work on your Play. VoLTE is very important to have.
