Well this is interesting too. Just checked my balance and expiration using #225# and it says my expiration has already been extended to 7/13/23! My regular expir. date is next week! I did have an issue with crap calls depleting my balance (even with the phone off) about a month ago, which they fixed. Guess they inadvertently reset my expir. date!. Gotta love freebies. Got my “healthy” balance from buying T-Mobile phones which came with cards for minutes, then selling the phone for more than I paid for ‘em. Then added the cards to my GR account.

The expiration on my account should be 6/5/23, but I noticed today that it says 9/30/22. Anyone else seeing a wrong expiration date?

I called 611 and a CSR told me they will see that it's corrected, but it will take about 44 hours/

    I just checked how much a $1 refill would cost. It's now $1 + $6.66 taxes/fees = $7.66 = OUCH!

    I suspect you are in PA. (6.66 - 1.71 on 04-07-2022)/3=1.65, I then searched 1.65 on:
    https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/prepaidE911.html

    My guess is that the $1.71 is 6% of $1 + $1.65:
    https://www.revenue.pa.gov/TaxTypes/...s/default.aspx
    https://www.revenue.pa.gov/TaxTypes/...formation.aspx

I documented this bug here, and the thread was started 04-21-2022.

I removed Caller ID and Scam Block myself, and asked T-Force to remove Account Takeover Protection.

None of the bugs I have encountered on the website has been fixed. Need to chat with T-Force to work around / fix where possible.

Can I change my address to get a lower tax rate for the refill? I put Oregon (no tax state) in My Profile and it still charges $2.29 for a $1 refill. Or it is fixed based on area code of the phone number?

I just did my first ever $1 Legacy PAYGO Gold Rewards refill on the T-Mo website with a credit card ($0.12 added as non-itemized taxes or other fees). Decided to go this way since I have about $152 on the account. Theoretically over time this should encourage the whittling down of the balance (or at least not a continuous ongoing build-up); maybe this is T-Mo's rationale behind allowing it. Anyway, it works!

I'm pretty sure it's tied to the area code of the account as I have no billing address on my account profile but as soon as I enter $1 into the refill field, it calculates the tax even before I put in any credit card or billing info.

So, if the phone number is just for emergency use, you may consider changing the number to a lower tax area code

I've gotta figure out what i'm going to do with this SIM when GSM is shut down. This sim is essentially just used in my v60, Select 2000e, and Nokia 8390 for when I wanna cary a super old device.

    I have zero use for a plan that's $0.10/min on LTE/5G.

I just put these lines in our cars. I've never had to use them but it's nice to know it's there.
Castrol EDGE 0W-20 is my drug of choice.

Under My Profile > Addresses, these are at least what T-Mobile *says* how the addresses are used:

    Billing Address
This is where you’d like us to send your service notifications and financial information.

Manage your e911 and primary place of use (PPU) addresses
Emergency response services are sent to your e911 address in event of emergencies. Primary Place of Use (PPU) address indicates where your device will primarily operate. Tax and optimal service reception are based off this address.
Ever since my lines were moved to the new platform/website in 8/2021 and 9/2021 (https://www.howardforums.com/showthr...7#post17186837), all three addresses have had my city, state, and zip code. Only my e911 address also has had my street address.

(Given the number of bugs, what T-Mobile *says* may be different from what T-Mobile *does*.)

911 charges are not the same as sales tax. Although Oregon has no sales tax in general, there are 911 fees. Colorado does not charge sales tax on refills, but has 911 charges. PA (see above) charges both.

I can get by with just FreedomPop, but there is always the worry about a free service or MVNO going away. I echo IsLand_BoY's "nice to know it's there" sentiment. Thanks to GnatGoSplat's discovery, I am already saving 90% a year on refills. So I make sure my e911 address is correct, and pay this essential government service honestly.

Compared to postpaid, we are basically paying peanuts.

Thank you so much for this! I checked the e911 & PPU address in the Profile and it's my own address. Last year, I gave away this line to elderly relatives in another state and so I just put in their address. The tax is only a few cents for a $1 refill! The expiration date updated 1 yr to 9/30/23. Finally can chip away at the balance if this $1 refill offering continues.
