    Snowy - wow.

mt999999 - I can't imagine what kind of a deal or setup got you a nickel a minute rate on this plan. That would be a good reveal story.

My Gold Rewards Legacy was renewed recently. It renewed for one more year.

It's hard to let it (and my Truphone SIM) go even though I don't use it much. At $10 a year with no data, it serves as a "real" number for services that do not accept my main number (which is with Google Voice).

I have less than $60 in my account.

An Ultra Mobile Paygo would serve me better because it would act as a real number, and give me back up data if my main data line is (temporarily) out of service.

Every year, I tell myself, keep it for another year, it's only $10. Lol

At one time it was a few dollars under $500.
Remember several years ago there was a man selling Legacy Gold Rewards lines for $27 or so with high value balances?
I bought a few and at one point he gave me one with almost $200 on it.

At that time T-Mobile was allowing us to combine balances.

I had at one point 3 Legacy Gold lines, but I turned one to a $3 a month line and I sold one of the Legacy Gold lines.
Let the $3 one die after I used up the balance.

So my one last Legacy Gold Rewards line has a high balance.
I'd like to let it go but I'm not giving it away.

    $350.

    I've had T-Mobile prepaid since February 2007.
Got it at Target when they were selling the $100 refill for $88 and gave you a Nokia 6030.

I had the same deal from Target in 2005 but with the 6010. I still use that handset as my main alarm clock! Battery still OK.

My son is still using the Nokia 6010 I handed down to him as a backup phone. Every once in awhile he will accidentally do something that messes up his smartphone and the Nokia comes through. Middle of this year 2G is supposed to quit. We will see.

A 17 year old phone that still works.

    Of course it's Nokia.

Probably still work for quite a while if only they were not shutting down 2G.

I was thinking about posting it here when I first bought it, but I decided not to. A bit greedy of me, but I figured since I spent a lot of money on it, I didn't want several people calling asking about the 5 cents thing, and have that option removed. I'm posting now since it's no longer an option. Had I of know it was going away, I'd have posted about it right before so a few other people could have taken advantage of it. It went straight up to 10 cents/min as soon as I refilled on the new billing system, not a "gradual" price increase as it formerly did.

The 5 cents per minute thing was a "secret option" that T-Mobile reps had in the old billing system. Almost like a customer save type ordeal. Same way that everyone here would call in to reset their balance to 10 cents/min, they formerly had the option to do 5 cents at their discretion. The first time that I refilled, the rep reset to 5 cents again for me upon request. I hadn't heard of this until I saw/bought the plan on eBay. This option is gone with this "rebellion" billing system :/

It's still in my eBay purchase history, but the link no longer works since it was sold so long ago. I took a screen shot and posted a picture.

You're welcome. I wish that I still had the 5 cents/min rate, since this line is my only cell number, but oh well.

I just renewed my legacy gold rewards plan for the $1 like others tried and it worked for me also.

I paid 1.32 total so I guess the 32 cents is tax.

I have $112 balance and the new expiration date is 02/10/2023.

Also they did not send a confirmation text like they use to.

It is nice to be able to renew for $1 because I still don't have a working phone for after the 3G shutoff.

Now I need to start thinking about what phone to get because it does not look like T-Mobile is going to offer a discount on a new phone.

Well, your phone will still work, as 2G/GPRS/EDGE is still going to be working, that's why they've not offered any of us a discount.

My phone is a Motorola v60 that only works on EDGE/GPRS, and will still work for at least another year.

Finally had a chance to call CSR today to check on my account status. Unfortunately, couldn't find my trouble ticket number, but looks like my expiration date has been fixed.

New expiration date is now mid-December 2022, so they added one year from when all the problem started. Old expiration was mid/end of August. Slightly a pain, because I usually travel during winter break and worry about forgetting to refill.

Legacy Gold Rewards status has been reinstated on the account. CSR said $10 refill should extend by one year as usual. Forgot to ask about my minute rate. Wish the automated system would reply back the expiration date and the minutes rate, but hopefully they fixed the expiration issue for everyone else.

You can refill early to reset your expiration date to a preferable time of the year.

I'm pretty sure the per minute rate is a consistent 10c on the new [Rebellion] system.

    Absolutely!

I topped my Legacy Gold line up a few days ago with a dollar and I'm very pleased.

I had been following the posts from people who have done this.
My expiration date was in a few days from now.

I like paying a dollar over paying $10 plus the fee on CallingMart which I have been using for years.

Ended up paying $1.12 with taxes and fees.
