Wish I saw this thread before I refilled $10 to keep my "dinosaur" account alive for another year.

BTW, is there anyway I can end this yearly BS and get a refund on the unused balance of this next to useless account? I'm thinking about porting the number out to Red Pocket or other equivalent MVNO. If not, how about switching it to another TMo monthly prepaid plan with data. At least I can use it and won't lose the money I paid. Thanks.

I keep this plan for back up voice/text and it also works in some areas outside of the US and on cruise ships. My main service only works in the US.

If you want to change, you can log into your online account and change to any of the following plans:

    Simply Prepaid

Simply Prepaid Unlimited $50.00 per month
Simply Prepaid Unlimited Plus $60.00 per month
    $40 Simply Prepaid 10GB 5G & 4G LTE – Unlimited Talk, Text, Data $40.00 per month

    T-Mobile Connect

    $15 T-Mobile Connect UNL Talk & Text w/ 2.5GB Data (capped) $15.00 per month
    $25 T-Mobile Connect UNL Talk & Text w/ 5.5GB Data (capped) $25.00 per month

    Mobile Internet Plans

Unlimited Mobile Internet with up to 500MB of 5G & 4G LTE Data $5.00 per month
Unlimited Mobile Internet with up to 2GB of 5G & 4G LTE Data $10.00 per month
Unlimited Mobile Internet with up to 5GB of 5G & 4G LTE Data $20.00 per month
Unlimited Mobile Internet with up to 10GB of 5G & 4G LTE Data $30.00 per month
Unlimited Mobile Internet with up to 30GB of 5G & 4G LTE Data $40.00 per month

You could put it on Ebay or a for sale site.
Mine had a $50 balance and I got $35 for it.
Several sellers wanting over $100 for theirs, I haven't seen evidence of successful sales.

If you need a backup glove box phone now, just get a Textnow SIM for $5 and a Tmobile or unlocked phone newer than 2017 that has VOLTE. Works surprisingly well.

Can I use my existing balance and use it to pay for this plan? My goal is to empty out my TMo legacy account before porting the number to Red Pocket, Hello Mobile, etc. I need to keep the number because it's the one I use for Whatsapp. Thanks.

I did that for an account over 3 years ago. don't know now because they change a few things like expiration not even showing anymore via 311 or text codes not working. expiration of balance was still based on last day of refill.

The expiration date does show on the website, for my Legacy Rewards line under the new billing system. It also has the message "You must have enough in your prepaid service balance before 12/17/2021 to renew your service". This is about 2 weeks before my actual expiration date.

I am also thinking the renewal date is shown because the web page was designed for monthly plans. I will try adding $1, and see what happens.

OK, just tried it now and it worked, now expiring 12/16/2022.

If it isn't yet understood to be so, regarding the Legacy PAYGO plan, anything other than the expiration date listed on the page has to do with monthly prepaid plans.

Something happened to my account last week. My balance expired and got zeroed out.

I refill my Legacy Gold Rewards Paygo account every year around the end of August and I always verify the expiration date:

Last/earlier this week, my account balance expired and zeroed. Took two calls to CSRs to get it fixed. Seems I only got overseas representatives. My account was migrated to the new Rebellion system, and the first rep said I needed to refill every three months, but reinstated my balanced, and cautioned me to refill soon.

The second rep dug deeper into my account. For some reason, the Gold Rewards status dropped off the account. Don't know if it was due to be migration error. She can see when I last refilled, but seems to be unable to see my 10+ years of refills and questioned my Gold Rewards status. Took 30+ minutes to created an error ticket.

Also, #225# #BAL# doesn't work anymore, only #999# and doesn't give the expiration date. I don't feel like making a web account to check the status, but maybe I need to.

I recently refilled my Legacy plan with Gold Rewards few days before its annual expiration date. It added $10 as expected to the balance, but to my surprise it only added 90 days or service days (New Exp. March 2022), and there was no mention of Gold Rewards.I thought T-Mobile had dropped the program.

Hours later I signed in to My Account again and to my surprise, the Balance expiration date had been extended to Dec 2022 and now I could see the Gold Rewards status as "Active". I didn't take any action in between.

I have not been so lucky. Mine renewed in December for only 90 days. I have called support twice to get it fixed and the expiration updated to the full 1 year. First rep said my account was being migrated to Rebellion and it will all be fixed in 5 days. Never got fixed. 3 weeks later, the 2nd rep said it will all be fixed in 7 days.

My Legacy Gold Rewards line is still good until April 2022.

I just wish that I could get rid of it really.
The balance is too high for anyone to be truly interested in taking it off my hands though.
I've had the line since February 2007.

I just added $1 last week and it extended my Gold Rewards Legacy PayGo to one year. Almost too good to be true for people like us who hoard a number forever.
Just in case I might be interested, how much would you want for your Legacy Gold Rewards account, and how big is it?

I've noticed that since this annoying transition, #225# no longer works for me either. It no longer says "Gold Rewards" member when I call into the automated system. I don't think that I've added any balance to the account since before the transition. This account has been active since 2007 or so with Gold Rewards. Did you get any of this resolved?

There are guys on Ebay trying to sell a Gold Rewards SIM for $299.
I offered to sell mine to them, no reply. I keep it around for testing phones.
I sold a G.R. SIM from my wife's phone for $35 to someone on one of the forums here.
I actually bought my Gold Rewards SIM on eBay for $300-some a year and a half ago. The reason that I did that, aside from the roughly $100 balance, was that somehow the seller had some kind of 5 cents per talking minute on this account. I had never heard of less than 10 cents per minute. I ported my main cell number to this plan when I bought it, and it's worked faithfully until this stupid billing system switch. When I renewed $100 on the account, the phone rep honored the 5 cents per minute and restored it.

Since this billing system switch, 3 different reps have told me that they can *NO LONGER* set the 5 cents per minute, and 10 cents is what everyone gets now. GRR!! I bought this plan because in 2 years it was going to pay for its self, considering my usage and what I used to pay Consumer Cellular. It's going to take another 6 months to a year to pay it off at 10 cents per minute. The last rep "took pity" on me and gave me a $20 account credit or something like that.

Half tempted to switch to the $15/mo plan, but I dunno. I don't really care about the data, I've never had data before. It seems like a much better value, but since I still use less than $15 each month on this plan, I'm not sure that I'll pull the trigger and ditch the legacy gold plan... no way to get it back.

My Gold Rewards line has $375 give or take a few dollars.

I could let it go for $350.
