    My monthly bill is $23.49.

    • $20.00 plan charge for AT&T Unlimited Tablet
    • $1.99 administrative fee
    • $1.50 regulatory cost recovery charge

Also notable that this plan, unlike the prepaid options, allows you to finance a tablet through AT&T installments, which are 0% APR and therefore end up costing you (amount of annual inflation from purchase date to installment plan completion date * cost of device) * (number of months chosen for installment plan / 12). So for example, a $799 device — the 5G iPad mini 256 GB — would end up effectively costing you about $50 less if financed through the 36 month plan, assuming a 2% annual inflation rate.

Mine is $23.49 too in Oklahoma. Seems consistent in pricing.

Probably wouldn't take them up on the offer to finance. I hate owing money. Though in this case since the price of the plan is good, little downside. Unlike paying extra for a postpaid phone plan where your discount may be more than made up for in the extra cost of the plan.

Unlike what is posted earlier, I don't think this plan actually allows roaming out of the country. But with COVID and all that, and my very limited vacation available, I'm not about to try it. The time to do that was last summer when I made it up to North Dakota
iPhone 12 Pro is my current phone I carry.

Debt can be good. If its interest rate is lower than the currency inflation rate, you actually LOSE money by NOT taking on debt. If you’re worried about possibly becoming unable to pay, you could set aside a sum equal to the principal of the loan in an account with an interest rate higher than that of the loan and refuse to allow yourself to use that money for anything else.

I just don't like debt. I've actually paid off a car loan in the past by selling some mutual funds to pay a lower interest rate loan. Penny wise pound foolish, but I don't like it.

Only if you spoof the IMEI and use a VPN.

I have had two of these plans for
about 3 years. I use the Sims in my smartphones. AT&T couldn't care less. Total cost for both lines is a little over $47.

About a month ago, I called AT&T CS and asked if these plans were 5G compatible and if I needed to change Sims to get 5G on this plan. Response was yes, for 5G and no, no need to get another sim.

I wasn't charged an activation fee for these plans. Could be because I was an AARP member. Honestly, I don't remember. Just know that there was no activation fee for me.

I went into a store in Henderson, NV to activate plan. I told the CS rep not to put the Sims in my tablets, that I was going to use them in my smartphones. She didn't care.

I’m with you 100%! I’d so much rather be debt free. Cash is always king. I loosely follow Dave Ramsey. Although I do have 2 credit cards for car rentals etc. but those always have a zero balance.

Have you encountered any problems recently? I used to have the sim in my iPhone at all times, but it stopped working like 2 weeks ago… I’ve tried so many different APNs, restarting the device, a second iPhone but no luck… If I put the sim back in my iPad it works just fine

No. I have encountered no issues on my Motorola phones.

So, has anyone confirmed that this plan is still available in August of 2022? I just bought a new unlocked Samsung cellular tablet, and at work, the speeds on both Verizon and T-Mobile are pathetically slow! Might be worth trying AT&T to see if it's better. Back in 2016, 2017, I know AT&T Wireless was delivering substantially faster LTE speeds at my house than VZW does even today. But 2017 was the last time I got to do any speed tests with their network.

I heard of someone getting one within the last week. This was in the LTE 5G Hacks Facebook page.

Hmmm... may have to look into this sometime this week. I have a brand new Factory Unlocked LTE tablet I could try it out in.

By “secret” I mean that AT&T doesn’t advertise it or even have it on their website, but I was able to sign up for the plan yesterday by simply going into an AT&T store and asking for it, even though I didn’t have an AT&T postpaid account and therefore had to have one created just for this plan.

The only catch is that it’s always deprioritized, but as others have mentioned, deprioritized AT&T data is generally of a quality similar to prioritized AT&T data (unlike on Verizon, where it can spell doom). Despite it saying it only comes with standard definition video, I was able to enable any video resolution by disabling Stream Saver. (Given that I get ~100 Mbps at home over AT&T LTE, I feel comfortable describing this plan as supporting 4K streaming.)

I hear (but have not confirmed) that this plan can be used for unlimited hotspotting by overwriting a hotspot’s IMEI with that of a cellular tablet, which can be done using apps like this. Of course this is a violation of the ToS, but if you don’t go wild with it, you would probably be fine.

I’ve heard mixed reports on whether this $20 plan comes with any prioritized data if it’s added to an account subscribed to a premium unlimited plan such as Unlimited Elite. It definitely did prior to September, but no idea now. Even if it doesn’t, this is a very good deal imo.
How does one disable Stream Saver if one has this plan?
