Are you certain your local towers support 5G ? If they do, there may be a provisioning error on the account preventing your access to it. Just contact customer service to verify coverage and provisioning.
    Just another day in paradise.....

At least on my AT&T and Verizon TracFone SIMs, 5G is not enabled. I have an iPhone 12. It took a bit to even get VoLTE and we still don't have WiFi Calling on the Verizon side of things, so I'm not expecting 5G anytime soon. It's not a huge deal for me on TracFone since I don't have unlimited data like I do on my primary line.
Castrol EDGE 0W-20 is my drug of choice.

Primary: iPhone 12 Pro eSIM; Samsung A32 5G
Secondary: TracFones: iPhone 12 Pro dual-SIM [AT&T] & iPhone XS [Verizon]; Cricket: iPhone SE 2nd gen
Mobile Broadband: ZTE Z917 LTE hotspot (5GB for $10)

AT&T is very picky on their MVNO provisioning. Verizon is very hit and miss with their provisioning on this. T-Mobile is the easiest to get 5G.

Tracfone chat help said they don't have 5G yet.

And yet another person on tracfone help said LTE is their 5G

What a useless comment by the rep. That's a fancy way to say we don't support 5G yet.

I think it's kind of like VoLTE was when it first started. Most CSRs were clueless of what it was.

Exactly. Then there is some CSR's that is telling people that they need a "special" SIM to get 5G too, and even some other CSR saying that a VPN is a hotspot software.

There are routers that have VPN software capability so you can convert apartment WiFi into something secure. The router acts as a go-between between the apartment WiFi and your devices. I have actually looked into this, in case I move.

So the CSR might have some experience with this, but not other VPNs, so it sounds weird.
