Exclamation Phone always goes to 1x when making calls/checking voicemail

I have had a Moto E5 Play and Red Pocket Mobile for a few years now but have recently been getting this problem:

When I call someone or check my voicemail, LTE switches to 1x. Often times that causes the call quality to be poor. I am in the same location where I previously did not have this issue. I don't know if my phone is bad or if there is something wrong with my carrier. I use Red Pocket Verizon. I tried removing and reinserting the sim card.

Have you gone into settings & checked to see if "Advanced Calling/VoLTE" is still turned on?

    --Go to Settings>>Network & Internet>>Mobile Network>>Enhanced 4G LTE Mode

Let us know what you find

I ended up getting the issue resolved with red pocket chat.

Was told to do the following:

    >Network Reset
    >Remove sim
    >Turn off device
    >Wait for 2 minutes
    >Turn on device
    >Put in sim
    >Wait for 2 minutes idle

Did that, and still had 1x. Then rep did something on his end and it resolved my issue. I asked what he did and was told
"networks refresh the system and we just need to refresh that system."
"I just re-added the high def calling on your account."

    Glad you got it resolved.

Strange that it got turned off on Verizon's end, but I guess anything is possible these days . . . . . .

Yeah not sure, I began having the issue a few months after buying an annual plan with Red Pocket. Prior to that I was paying each month. I'm glad I can keep my phone and service.

This issue has been mentioned in other threads including me. Seems Verizon doesn't have the whole issue with ending 3g/cdma and having enough capacity in some areas to support 4G/5G only.
    Questions about your experience:
Do you live in a fringe area? (usually a low to moderate signal)
When did the issue start ?
Was it intermittent and found an LTE signal again ?

The CSR saying he "re-added" HD calling seems strange if it was fine before.

More than likely, the CS rep refreshed the network settings for you on their end which forced the phone to re-establish a new network connection.

In the future, if you have the same issue, turn off your phone for a few minutes before turning it back on which would do the same thing. Let us know if you still have the same issue later. Powering a phone off and back on at least once per week (if not more often) solves many such issue.
    Just another day in paradise.....

A few days ago, I went into the advance calling option on my phone and I didn't have the option to get into it. I believe there was a screen about signing in and clicking on it gave me an error. Whatever the red pocket rep did, displayed a different screen on my phone and now I see HD voice on.

I live in an area with good coverage. From my research and experience with other carriers, the signal is best with verizon in my area. I have 3 out of 5 bars at home. Signal strength is showing -111 dbm 29 asu.

I want to say the issue happened maybe 1-3 months ago. I would hear people break up on my end or they would say that I am breaking up on their end.

LTE always returned after the phone call ended. When checking my voicemail it would go from LTE to 1x and back to LTE once I hung up.
