Puttin it out there: PayPal as a payment option

I'm hoping some service providers have people in here reading this. Years ago, Virgin Mobile used to allow PayPal as a payment option for prepaid topups. I could send them from my phone. Choose amount, payment method, send, and the phone balance would update. Super fast and easy. It might work well for monthly renewals too. Fewer debit card issues too since many people keep several payment methods on their PayPal accounts.

It should be a consideration. The easier it is to pay, the fewer hassles, the more likely people will pay on time and keep their service active.

Sort of... I tried to sign up with my paypal account when I couldn’t get my credit card to work with them. But that failed too (because I don’t have my bank linked to PayPal. Visible REALLY wants my bank account info for some reason.

How do you use Paypal at all then?

I haven't used Callingmart but I think it uses PayPal for payments. I was just over there looking at it. I usually buy my minutes directly from the service provider.

H20 refused my debit once at expiration deadline for my phone funds so I'm going to keep Callingmart in mind for a backup source.

I thought I'd paste the Callingmart link for those who haven't already checked into it. It says the PIN arrives quickly, within a few minutes.

There's a few other services (I remember having a few, bit I can't remember company names) that require a bank account associated rather than a card for PayPal payments, but it's not common.

I helped my son sign up and port to Visible in March, and I used my PayPal account with my linked Discover Card. Before the 2nd payment was due, we changed the auto-pay to use his own Discover Card, and auto-pay has worked successfully every month since then.

Visible just must hate my Capital One card. Like I said, it works literally everywhere BUT Visible. Capital One says it’s on Visible’s side since they see the charge is made and then immediately backed out by Visible. They sent me their backend charges as proof. I sent it to Visible and they said “well, I don’t know how to fix that so give us your bank details”.

Like I said, I tried several different times working with different reps. I decided they don’t want me as a customer.

Reading these reviews, though, it’s probably for the best. I need something more reliable than what is suggested here.
