Why are games automatically downloading? I don't play games on my phone.

I just started using an LG V20 with Android 8.0.0 and now I'm getting games downloaded automatically.

Where is the setting to prevent games from automatically downloading?
My smartphone is a lot smarter than I am.

Google/Android may be installing those automatically with system updates. Just delete the ones you don't want/use.

Never had that happen. I'd be concerned.

When I was setting up a new Samsung A10e using my Google account when the phone was all set up it had a ton of Samsung garbage apps and also were downloaded a bunch of games and apps that I would never use.

I had to go one by one and delete them and the stupid Samsung apps that I couldn't delete I had to disable them.

I never had the problem with games and intrusive apps downloaded on my other branded phones before.

When I had a boost branded phone it would always download a lot of boost software the first time you connect and it included some games. Even if I factory reset the phone, once I connect to boost it would download the software again. It would also change the look of the phone desktop such as changing the background image.

So I assume there is a program on the boost branded phone that is responsible for forcing this boost software download.

Now that I have the unlocked moto e4 it does not download any of that software so I assume they can't do it on the unlocked phone.

So that might be similar to your situation but not sure.

That's why people root their phones. Then there's a piece of software you really want, and it won't run because your phone is rooted. Must make sure you have a 16 gig phone. 8G ones don't have enough space for more that 3 apps, android system & resident apps take ~6 gig.

That has nothing to do with updates, I have the same phone and the same android version and I never had that.

I rooted my latest phone ONLY because Facebook would keep on reinstalling itself. I was so pissed.
