“The Internet wasn’t meant to be metered in bits and bytes, so it’s insane that wireless companies are still making you buy it this way. The rate plan is dead — it’s a fossil from a time when wireless was metered by every call or text.” John Legere 1/5/2017

    I wonder what it is?

Free access to Tidal Music Premium and ad-supported Hulu?

T-Mobile is now a shareholder of Tidal right now that they own Sprint?

Maybe they’re finally supporting nationwide HD Voice with Verizon customers.
Sprint does, but knowing T-Mobile they’ll probably break that on spite.

Yup. I would expect nothing less. Most likely some service "included" only for those with 5g devices.

Sprint does not... but I guess state incorrect info like it's fact?

The only two carriers that support nationwide HD Voice cross-carrier with supported devices are ATT and VZW. Sprint and T-Mobile both support it in many/most areas with both ATT/VZW, but it is not nationwide.

Heck, Sprint can't even get VoLTE right, luckily their entire customer base will be merged to TMO's core.

I am sure T-Mobile will offer some bold initiatives with this new uncarrier event.

Disney owns Hulu fully now and they have deal with Verizon so I see a Hulu deal with Verizon before T-Mobile.

How about no restrictions of any kind while on the 5G network? They said it would be big. That it would change the wireless industry.

Now this is not to bash T-Mobile, but they keep claiming their uncarrier moves transforms the wireless industry. Well maybe they did get the other two to offer unlimited, but since then they haven't pushed the needle on the other carriers. How long ago did T-Mobile start including taxes and fees in the plan pricing 3 years? Neither at&t or Verizon does this. And Verizon only offers a 55+ plan to only those in Florida and you won't find a link to it on their website.

Not wishing to pop your bubble but, to date, every Uncarrier move has been something that could be implemented in the billing system (e.g. Binge On) or in a side app (T-Mobile Tuesday). I don't recall any network fundamentals being included.

I'm suspecting something like discounted TMobile Home Internet for TMobile customers on certain plans / 5G service, or more Hotspot /tethering with 5G... In time for 'school' year. They did give me a free voice line... I do have to test it out, possibly get rid of Spectrum voice

Someone posted an hour long video on reddit with supposedly leaked uncarrier information, but I can’t find it anymore so it may have been taken down. I didn’t watch the video, but one person commented that unlimited hotspots was one of the uncarrier announcements. I don’t remember what else it was about though. Did anyone here see it?

I caught a glimpse of it. Yeah they did mentioned unlimited hotspots. It was something about adding more plans. Basically one plan below the essentials plan and one better (or more premium) then magenta plus. So it would look like:

    1) new barebones (cheaper) plan
    2) essentials
    3) magenta
    4) magenta plus
    5) new premium (more expensive) plan

Take it with a grain of salt.
