Do you have an active sim on PP from another phone you could just swap in ?

I have problems with that IMEI on TracFone/VZW too, but its clear on Verizon itself, so I think it has something to do with how TracFone handles these 5g devices.
You would think Verizon could just block the 5G to MVNO users. Just like they do with WiFi Calling, and previously did with VoLTE.

Must be in the imei that tells the mvno it's a 5G phone and they just automatically don't allow it without knowing that a 5G phone is backwards compatible to LTE. They just need a disclaimer that if you activate there'd be no 5G service. But that would be to much trouble for an mvno to put on their website.

Long overdue update but I have supposedly been on 5G in some spots since I got my s20 plus. At least that's what the icon says. It switches to 4g most of the time, but I get 5g most of the time at my home. The real world speeds (if I actually am on 5g) are not noticeable for me. I cannot tell when I'm on 5g or 4g. I attached a photo of a speed test and of an article stating that most real world 5g speeds are only 2x as fast as 4g as of now (upgrades to 5g towers expected down the road). All and all I would say even if you could get 5g right now, there's nothing impressive about it unless you download a lot of files to your phone for some reason.

So, I read thru this entire thread and its not clear to me if the PagePlus (tracfone/verizion) supports 5G or not. I currently have a Pixel 3 and looking at replacing it with a Pixel 7 and from what I've read the Pixel 7 is 5G only. The OP (BlueNightSky) indicated that he did get his Samsung S20 plus activated. Was it on PagePlus?

I tried entering the IMEI of my current Pixel 3 that runs on PagePlus and it says its not supported, so I have little faith in their website as well as the customer support. I've been using my Pixel 3s (two of them) for several years on PagePlus with no issues as long as you don't need to talk to customer support.

    Their website states:
Please note: Page Plus specific SIM cards are required for your device in order to receive 4G LTE/5G service. You will need to physically have a SIM card before you can activate a 4G LTE/5G capable device.

I don't really care about 5G speeds, I just want it to work like my current Pixel 3 does(talk/text/data)

So, has anyone been able to activate an unlocked Pixel 7 by just moving their current PagePlus sim card to a new phone?(a pixel 7 or 5G phone otherwise).

Not exactly. If the phone supports 5G, it is compatible with 4G. The two networks work hand in hand. The issue is that the phone may lack some of the frequencies required by the network provider.
    Just another day in paradise.....

If you tried entering the IMEI of your current Pixel 3 that runs on PagePlus and it says its not supported and that you've been using your Pixel 3 for several years on PagePlus, clearly the imei check had a hiccup or you mis-entered the imei.
Personally I'd just move the sim from your pixel 3 to the 7 and be done.

The 3 has cdma, the 7 is cdma-less. Likely shouldn't matter, but if you notice any issue just do a chat and tell them you moved your sim to a 5G cdma-less phone and the sim may need refreshed. All new activation are provisioned cdma-less now.

If anything, note that you don't need a PagePlus sim, a TF byop sim from your local big box will work fine on PP.

    Report back.

Well, I finally got the Pixel 7 working on PP. Here is some of the history. After several failed attempts trying to activate my old sim card from the Pixel 3 on PP, they insisted that I needed a new sim card. I then tried that yesterday and it still didn't work. I gave up yesterday and decided to do some more research today. I did apply one update to the pixel phone yesterday(I think that was a December or January update, not sure). I saw some other posts on different forums about using a beta release on the pixel 7 made it work. I checked for an pixel update again today and there was another update. I downloaded it and it now works on PP! The update said from February 5, 2023.

If you call them back, ask the CS rep if data is active on your account/phone #. If not, there is no amount of tweaking you can do to fix the problem. I learned long ago not to assume it is always set up correctly, in light of the fact that you can make/receive phone calls and text. Just wondering, have you attempted to send or receive a picture message (MMS)?

In that case, I suspect there is a missing feature code on your account that they need to add to make it work properly, especially when you confirm that you have data access.

I feel that the pixel 7 security update from Feb 5th resolved the problem and worked fine after applying the update.
