New game with the T-Mo/Sprint merger. Some of the Sprint network spectrum is being shifted over to the T-Mo network, so there may be some compatibility issues. LTE Band 41 is the big one, but most later phones support that.

Sprint service has been use on some Tracfone companies like Net10 and Straight Talk.

No Google Play Store. Phone is on Verizon but can be used on AT&T. VoLTE yes.

    GPS, sideload apps, developer options?

Has anyone tried the gps feature(s)? With no google apps, is there some stripped down maps app? And has anyone tried to get into developer options to enable other app sources like f-droid? Does it have the basic android app installer, or any kind of app ecosystem other than just built in apps? Those are the questions I have after reading through the manual.

For me that's the key question too. Come up empty on any app info. Other then a nicer contact list, some extra bells and whistles and short cuts; doesn't sound like a whole lot more then the MyFlip if you're just looking for a convenient little phone for mainly talk with some occasional useful app other then tic tac toe. The contact list may be worth the xtra $, but some useful apps would be nice. Jack Baurer had a nice little flip with some cool apps.
I'd be a very happy camper with even an modern version of the LG Optimus Fuel. But now the direction continues to be bigger is better.

I don't see any independent app development for AOSP, like there was for Java on the old basic phones. Maybe if AOSP is used enough ongoing? For now, you get what you get from the manufacturer.

I agree with rpz1. I would like to see a "modern version of the LG Optimus Fuel". Screen sizes seem to be getting bigger with each new phone. Even the flip phones are getting bigger. eg. - The dimensions of the Alcatel Myflip are 4.13'' x 2.08'' x 0.74'' inches and the LG CLASSIC Flip (L125DL) are 4.63″ x 2.16″ x 0.7″ inches (as per the LG website)

There are still some ASOP apps, but the question is can they be side load installed as APKs?. There is a file manager on this phone that states it can see all storage areas.

That probably would be a cool little phone. It is obvious there is a market for smaller screen phones by recent release of iPhone SE 4.7" phone, and new super expensive Samsung ZFlip phone.

I been toggling between LG Fiesta 2 and Myflip phone (swapping the SIM) for last few months and novelty of using flip phone wears out quickly. Love the size of the phone, but its a nightmare if you trying to do anything else on the flip phone except talk and occasional text. I would give up my flip phone for smaller screen phones in a heart beat

That is fantastic news because I just wrote a scathing followup to my review on the MyFlip. The battery on the MyFlip is horrific. Mine dies within a couple of days on standby. It is always dead whenever I want to use it. I want to dropkick MyFlip into the river. Now I have something else to try.

How is the voice clarity? As much as I hate the MyFlip, the voice quality is outstanding. Even better than my landline.

I hate my current MyFlip battery life so much I went ahead and ordered this new LG Flip to give it a try.

Heads up, you can get $15 off right now using the Discount Code: 99138. My total price with tax was $26.49. Tracfone offers free two-day shipping. Not bad. I'll order another one if I like it.

Thanks for the info about the 99138 Discount Code. For $25 plus tax, it will make a great simple PagePlus phone.

FYI - When I went to the Tracfone website, I did not originally see it listed, but when I checked the box for just LG phones, it showed up.

    App ability

As far as VoLTE, it is a VoLTE phone and may even be cdma-less like the MyFlip. It's certainly Verizon and since it's a DL model should be good for ATT and TMO. I wouldn't bank on Sprint though.
I have had this phone for a week now. I have not been able to find a way to download the app store or any aps for that matter.
Since I never planned to use it for anything other than to make calls that by itself doesn't bother me. However there is no built in way to check your remaining time or add more time. THAT bothers me.
