Looking for flip or bar phone with 3G Band 4 support (on T-Mobile network)

I have foreign Lycamobile SIM card that registers only on T-Mobile network (in USA). The porpose of this phone is to accept incoming calls from abroad to foreign number (foreign Lycamobile roaming rates for incoming calls are very cheap in US - $0.04/min)

This phone will be used by elderly person, so simple phone (not smartphone) is required.

As result of this I need flip or bar phone with 3G Band 4 (1700 MHz) support. T-Mobile branded phone is OK but it should be unlocked.

    RFK,

Maybe do an advanced search on gsmareana and search on that band/frequency for phones? I took a quick look but didn't see anything for flip phones.

Exactly! I do not see any non-smartphone with UMTS Band 4.

Looks like all the current Alcatel flippers have WCDMA B4, even my Go Flip V. It's a decent senior phone.

Have to be careful with locked ones. The Go Flip V was not. Not a great choice without LTE B12 on Tmo but would work for you.

    RFK,

Here's a German website that is similar to gsmarena/phonefinder. You'll at least be able to see if there are any "overseas" phones that would work here in the US.

Suggest Kyocera Rally S1370 for this application.

I have the Kyocera Rally S1370 which I purchased off the clearance table at Target. Its' worked fine for several years. It is a GSM/UMTS candy bar phone and very small. The manufacturers page says it is a "Standard UMTS" phone. and operates on 1700/2100 MHz (which might be Band 4.).

CAUTION: It is my understanding that there is a European version that is also 1700/2100 but with transmit and receive reversed.

eBay and Amazon have these phones fo5 $15 to $60 -- new, used, even "unlocked." ( I saw a lot of 10 for $150!)

    Regards, FJ

T-Mobile used to sell an Alcatel made T-mobile 768 that had Band IV. They're about $20-25 used.

I have one that my elderly mom used to use, and it makes good quality calls. Since that's similar to what you need it for, it might be an option here.
