I think people want to start seeing screenshots of the “T-Mobile” alpha tag appearing on phones with Sprint SIM cards, and vice versa.

Does this mean me as a T-Mobile customer will finally get good cell service at work where I have scant T-Mobile service but Sprint has two cell sites on either side of the complex with excellent service?

Or do I have to wait 6 years?

You will have to wait for your area to be integrated and your device will need to support those bands. And restart your phone

Yes! The Merger is completed and in strange times indeed. Looking forward to see the integration from the Sprint side.

I’m pretty sure the merger completion is the second sign of the apocalypse. The first corona virus

Well, it's certainly been a day that has been in the making for a long time.

Here's a good quote from today's press release:

"The New T-Mobile's commitment to building the world’s best broad and deep nationwide 5G network, which will bring lightning-fast speeds to urban areas and underserved rural communities alike, is more critical than ever, as reliable connectivity has become so important to Americans. With 14 times more capacity in six years than standalone T-Mobile has today, the New T-Mobile network will be able to offer unmatched value to consumers, with better service at lower prices. The company will also continue to focus on its commitment to customers and being a force for good. The enhanced scale and financial strength of the combined company will drive a planned investment of $40 billion into its network, business and more over the next three years. "

A big congrats to the team for pulling this off!

Love it when a plan comes together. T-Mobile is now the King of 5G. Every one that buys a 5Gphone needs to move to T-Mobile for 5G.

From what I recall hearing, it should be about two years from now, when the Sprint network is fully integrated into T-Mobile's network. T-Mobile has had a good track record of meeting their goals. It will start with T-Mobile adding unused Sprint spectrum into the T-Mobile network -- as happened today when they turned on 2.5 Ghz in Philly. They will also start "stealing" underutilized spectrum from Sprint's network -- areas where there is more capacity on the Sprint network than customers -- and moving that extra spectrum from Sprints network to T-Mobile; particularly as Sprint customers get a T-Mobile phone/SIM card. Also, depending on how fast Sprint customers are converted and various contractual obligations, T-Mobile may turn off the Sprint network sooner than 2 years is a few cities/areas.

This is the method T-Mobile used when they merged with Metro and the process should be similar, just over an extended time period to account for Sprint's size and Sprint's contractual obligations.

Is 5G a big deal? I say no it's just bragging rights & huckstering to the public. Data allotments per plan get chewed up a lot quicker with 5G & that's about it.

5G will be crazy fast, but it'll be worthless without unlimited data
