    Compare AT&T and T-mobile plans:

    AT&T: Taxes & fees included - no
AT&T: Data roll over, although only to next month
AT&T: Free text to 100 countries
    At&T: Hotspot - yes
AT&T: Throttled 128Kbps data after the 2Gb is used
AT&T: Wifi calling - not sure (can anyone confirm?)

Tmobile: 500MB extra data added each year
Tmobile: No roll-over data, no 128Kbps throttled data, no international texting
    Tmobile: Hotspot - yes
    Tmobile: Music unlimited - no
    Tmobile: Wifi calling - yes
Tmobile: Taxes & fees included - no

I think that's rather complete, although the AT&T plan may increase in price ("price subject to change") and T-Mobile's would be static. I think Wi-Fi calling is included on select devices for AT&T (the only plans excluded are the 25˘ one and the $75 one).

If you want to add the Cricket version, here's how it would fit in:

Cricket: Taxes & fees included - yes
    Cricket: No roll-over data
    Cricket: No hotspot
Cricket: Throttled 8Mbps before, 128kbps after 2GB is used
Cricket: Wi-Fi calling on select devices
    Cricket: Price may increase?

Tmobile's plan is guaranteed for several years. ATT's is subject to change and chances are it will last less than 6 months. Unlikely to be grandfathered in as well.

Do any of the three (3) plans being discussed include roaming in Canada or Mexico, or other international roaming of any kind, even if it's data only?

If I click on the at&t plan details it just mentions texting to 100 countries. But if I click on a different plan it does mention talk/txt/data in Canada and Mexico, so I assume the 2Gb plan does not include it.

the 2Gb Tmobile plan says coverage for Canada and Mexico isn't available, not even for an additional fee.

Ug, they want $10 for the sim card. Went through checkout, in one place it said sim card zero, in another spot it said $10. Final checkout showed $10 due, so I stopped.

I don't necessarily mind that (a lot of prepaid services charge $5-$10 for the SIM), but the fact that they launched a new plan with no eSIM support (it appears) has irked me—I'm being patient in case it's going to be added later, but it would be an insta-buy for a lot of people if you could do it with a few taps on an compatible phone.

I pretty much expected that, but thanks a lot for the verification.

I'll stick with the T-Mobile 2GB/mo LTE for $10 data only plan.

If you're interested, you can get a compatible SIM card from https://www.ebay.com/itm/T-MOBILE-3i...4383.l4275.c10 for $3.47 delivered.

When I checked out the SIM card fee was gone. Paid roughly $17 with taxes. Only keeping it for a month to test it out anyway.
