You're right. Spectrum Omega is showing a near nationwide AWS-3/ B1 block at 1700-1710 MHz. That can't be used for a B66 downlink carrier. Lol

The A1 and B1 blocks are UPLINK only not downlink and they are part of band 70.

I don’t quite know what that means. More bandwidth on band 66? How do we know if the NJ region has any?

Yes more capacity. 5x5 channels can add 37 Mbps theoretical speeds to a sector on 2x2 MIMO. Itís doubled with 4x4 MIMO. I havenít seen any AWS-3 in the NYC market just yet . I have no idea what Verizon is waiting for.

I found it here in Minneapolis today to. Dish holds 10x10+5x5 here. Unfortunately I don't think devices support 66+66+66.

Actually they do but I don't think the networks are configured for it. This is part of the CA band chart for the S20 and it does show 66+66+66 in a 3x combo only. 4CA and higher only supports 2x 66 carriers. Same on the S10/Note 10 variants.

You have to go on the FCC ID Search and enter the device number you want to check. That will give you access to a number of page documents.

5 MHz of Dishís Block I has been added to Verizonís 10 MHz of Block J in Reno. Itís still only used for CA - I havenít seen it as a PCC. A few speed tests are showing a slight bump in uploads, but no noticeable increase for downloads on my home site this evening. The Band 66 EARFCN was formerly 67086.

They haven't even deployed LAA here. Gigabit LTE is non-existent, all that talk more than a year ago.

    Temporary Additional Spectrum

I went on a hunt for more AWS-3 in my county and two adjoining and came up with a total of 6 sites that have it. Two in Lake, two in Porter, and two in Jasper county IN. Thereís just over 100 sites in Lake county. The only sites that got AWS-3 are ones that support 4x4 on AWS. The rest are using Ericsson RRUS12ís which only does 2x2.
