It just dawned on me that the Free Plan Change email said, "...250 minutes of talk and 250 text messages...".
If the word "and" is correct rather than "or", then it's still quite useful and generous for a free account.

I noticed that also. I was expecting it to be reduced.

I got the same amount. Maybe they're giving the extra minutes for the next few months given everything that's going on.

I don't think so. FreeUP has clearly said that the changeover will occur when you renew in the April billing cycle.

Mine renews in about 5 or 6 days, so technically an april renewal. We'll see what the allotment is when it actually does renew.

I did renew for the April billing cycle. According to the dates it didn't change.

I just renewed and it shows 1000 minutes or texts. Either they have postponed the downgrading, or it's possible they haven't updated the pop-up that displays your new plan.

    Three scenarios:

    - They haven't updated the display on their website

    - The changes are delayed due to COVID-19

    - "When your plan renews during the April 2020 billing cycle" means renewals clicked on in the April calendar month, which will apply for cycles in April/May

I waited until today to renew a 3rd line that my brother uses. It continues with the 1000 minutes or texts starting April 11th.

I noticed the same thing today. It shows on the bottom "your custom freeup plan" and it describes it as 1000 min OR texts, but on the top where it shows the current balance it says 500.

So on the same page, it shows 2 different numbers for the same thing.

What is even more confusing is that the email says they are going down to 250, so even the 500 is more than expected.

Looks like they are giving us 250 minutes AND 250 texts (which agrees with what their email said).

But the website account page shows 500 minutes 500 texts. And if you make a phone call OR a text, it decreases both balances by 1. Thus you are getting a combined 500 to split between minutes or texts in any ratio. If it was 250 of each as you suggest, you would only have 250 in each bucket.
