    Unhappy No Texting on FreeUp!

    No Texting out on FreeUp!

I have tried the FreeUp SIM in three different phones and can't send a text on any of them.

Incoming texts and calling works fine.

All was well until this AM. Any ideas?, Help?

Working for me...both incoming and outgoing. Try resetting your apn.

I agree with that, most likely reason for the OP's issue.

    Thanks for the replies.

I did a: Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth 2 times to no avail. I’m not sure if that’s actually resetting my APN as I’m not that tech savvy..

I did a little digging and came up to access point names and have two choices: ATT nextgenphone or ATT wap.cingular

I also hit the three dots and chose the option to reset to default. That did not help either.

I am wondering if I need to use the other option: new APN?

Does FreeUp need a different APN entered? If so what is it?

APN settings.org has the APN settings for free on mobile. I am new to this but it looks like I need to add a new APN And then enter the information provided by apnsettings.org

I would prefer to wait for a confirmation from You guys...

Thank you for that information that was provided as I was posting. I will proceed with adding a new APN.

    THANKS

I am on the default NextGen apn. I am sure you tried to send text to different numbers. If not, see if you are not accidentally blocked by that number. Or it could be an issue with your sim.

I'm pretty sure that the APN has NOTHING to do with sending or receiving SMS.

But I also don't know why you would be able to receive but not send SMS. Sorry!

I am pretty sure that there is a setting for SMS (not sure it is an APN setting though). The OP needs to make sure all settings are correct in the phone itself. When all else fails, contact customer support.

Have you contacted customer service? What did they say?

FreeUp’s customer service is pretty good at responding.
