    AT&T forums are an embarrassment

Check out this Official Accepted Solution on the AT&T forums:
    https://forums.att.com/conversations...d5f2f606188e98

Their official solution is totally inaccurate:
1)The coverage areas between Cricket and AT&T prepaid are not the same.
2)AT&T does have contracts for purchasing phones over time, and AT&T does have credit checks, which true prepaid plans don't require.
3)AT&T does add fees that which aren't part of the advertised price.

AT&T making the Official Accepted Solution shows that their forums are either controlled by shills and people that don't know what they are talking about. So sad.

Most of those posts are from 3-4 years ago, and may have been valid then.

ATT Prepaid doesn't do credit checks. ATT Postpaid does, so I'm not sure about #2.

Coverage between cricket and att prepaid isn't identical. But both offer some domestic roaming now that they didn't 3-4 years ago.

And yes, both ATT Prepaid and ATT Postpaid add taxes and fees. And both can be hard to figure out what they will be before you sign up. Especially postpaid, since it can take a couple bills to settle down.
iPhone 11 is my current primary phone. I have older model iPhones and Moto phones available on other lines. Trying to simplify to 2 prepaid lines, one on the Verizon network and a limited minute plan on ATT to improve coverage area. 12 month plans to help me fight the urge to switch. The good old days of contracts where you had to pay a hefty ETF to leave

Am I missing something? What happens on At&t's forum has no bearing on the HoFo forum.

    AT&T forums are an embarrassment

I think they are just pointing out how bad those threads and answers are. The AT&T support forums really are full of bad misinformation. That’s why you should always come here first when you have a real question!
