    Red Pocket 500/500/500Plan $5/30 Days At redpocket.com

    https://www.redpocket.com/plans/add/M010

    Red Pocket 500/500/500Plan $5/30 Days

    It was previously $10/30 days.

    I don't know if it's a RP mistake or a special.

But I just thought I'd mention it...

Good deal, but looks like this is only for new activations.

Probably just for 1 month I'd think. Like an intro deal.

I don't see that this is only for new activations. Maybe implied because the 3in1 SIM card is preloaded with the first month of service. Instead of an activation code & a separate SIM.

It seems Red Pocket is "learning" from buying FreedomPop, and based on this offer, is starting to act like FreedomPop? There are no details on the offer page. You have to create an account to get any info on what the monthly price is after the 30 days, or what happens. That said, I think I know what's going on with this offer...
Click on plans and you'll see they have a special for half off the first month. The $10 per month plan (500/500/500mb) is $5 for the first month. Click on it and you get this offer page, but nothing on the page explains this if you click direct to it. So I am guessing this is for one month only, and then it is the regular $10 per month.

If you are a new customer, these are the plans that you can choose from:

    • $5 per month plan - comes with 500 minutes, 500 texts, 500MB hard capped 4G LTE data (regularly $10 per month)
    • $7.50 per month plan - comes with 1,000 minutes, unlimited text, 1GB hard capped 4G LTE data (regularly $15 per month)
    • $9.50 per month plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, and 3GB 4G LTE data on CDMAS/GSMA, 1GB 4G LTE data on CDMA/GSMT (regularly $15 per month)
    • $15 per month plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, and 7GB 4G LTE data on CDMAS/GSMA, 3GB 4G LTE data on CDMA/GSMT (regularly $30 per month)
    • $20 per month plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, and 15GB 4G LTE data on CDMAS/GSMA, 5GB 4G LTE data on CDMA/GSMT (regularly $40 per month)
    • $35 per month plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, and unlimited LTE data on CDMAS/GSMA, 10GB 4G LTE on CDMA/GSMT (regularly $60 per month)

The last plan (offered at $35 per month) is actually a new plan that the MVNO has launched today. The plan originally costs $60 per month and comes with unlimited talk, text, and LTE data on CDMAS/GSMA networks while it only includes 10GB 4G LTE data on CDMA/GSMT networks.

The 50% discount is only applicable on the first month of service.

Unfortunately, I think it's just ongoing RP sloppiness. The link Digital Rules provided DOES reflect a regular price for each of the discounted plans.

Looks like the FP people have taken over at RP. And are purposely convoluting plans, plan options & requirements.

I don't see a lot of difference between RP before FP and RP after FP.

Like I mentioned above, unfortunately, RP has ALWAYS been sloppy with plan details and has ALWAYS had system glitches.

What hasn't changed is that they still offer one of the best values with a variety of lower-usage plans, and even some decent values for some higher usage plans.
