    New "smartsim" service from Tracfone.

Received an email about this today. Rotates among 4 carriers as needed.

    Pretty darn revolutionary.

Why do you think it's from TracFone?
I tried entering a couple of zip codes and got a message that the service wasn't available in either, which seems strange if it works on all four national networks as claimed.

The strange thing is that Tracfone is not shown anywhere on that page or in the video, even on the copyright notice. The video mentioned unlimited talk/text/data, not for me.

Very Interesting! But, it looks like this SmartSim service is not ready for “prime time” yet. Like others, I couldn’t find an active zip code. . . .Maybe there is a reason that TracFone has been selling more and more phone models that end in “DL,” and has added its new talk/text/data monthly plans. Time will tell.

    Thanks for sharing, ces1948!

There are redirects in email messages that are of a spam source. If you are good at reading the full addressing header, these can be found.

I am a totalwireless customer so it was not unusual for me to receive an e-mail from them. This type of service delivery is certainly something that could revolutionize cell phone service. Google Fi is the only other mvno to use this approach and it's just with t-mobile and sprint.

That could be REALLY cool, especially if it had an international roaming option!

I hope it's really from TF, and that it becomes a reality!

Well, it sounds interesting but it sounds like a long way from reality. Yes it would be really cool.

I have seen this on a Facebook sponsored post before. Then again, I have also seen posts by companies that have no chance of making it past an attempt at crowdfunding.

The lack of copyright or really any info makes it seem a lot more like vaporware.

I put in a spam filter email address and we'll see what happens.

This could be the tech behind this.

Trac or some of it anyway could become more like Google Fi or Altice where the sim is made for Trac not a specific carrier and service would move between carriers they are using. So one thing right off the bat is only certain phones would work. I know with Fi they actually have versions of phones made for them for instance there is an LG G7 Tmobile version and a Sprint version and a completely separate different model number Google Fi version, this can be seen on LGs website.

This would save Trac money and give them more control. Truly a huge advantage for Trac in prepaid since there would be no questions about coverage etc - it would work in any area covered by the big carriers.

Since the nodeadzone website specifically mentions 4 carriers is Trac getting back w/Sprint pending the merger?
