    AT&T 4G HSPA+/LTE Speedtests!, Round 2

North end of Kihei. Right by the cell site. I was staring at it. All 4 carriers on the building.

My phone gets so insanely hot here trying to just work. Iíve only seen bands 12 and 2 on Oahu and Maui. I donít recall having issues in 2013 or 2016 like this. At least the andaz Wi-Fi is Ok.

Seems to be density, backhaul and spectrum deficiencies. To be fair even on Oahu I didnít see tons of Verizon sites on the north shore (they had one more than AT&T near bonzai pipeline). Small cells would work miracles but I havenít seen any. I wonder if people are very very nimby for small cels.

    Maui ocean center and harbor.

Other carriers have cell sites here. Not AT&T.

Near Olowalu. I hope no government is using firstnet here. AT&T is disgraceful.

Yikes. I wonder if they're waiting to buildout the rest of the islands in the Pacific to make the upgrade push. Not sure why they would, but something's gotta give. Damn.

I want 10 days of credit for this absolutely horrific service on Oahu and the frankly non-existent service on Maui. FYI worked fine in 2016 here.

Literally no usable service at the shops at wailea. I have 2 bars with 0 throughput. Gee who could be shopping and eating here besides people with ēlotsē of money.

Really not even a small cell or Wi-Fi? Insane.

Iím wondering if theyíre in the middle of doing upgrades while youíre there, and that is probably why the service is so atrocious? Not trying to make excuses, but if it was good in 2016, then something doesnít make sense. They could be shutting down towers for a time to do the upgrades?

Maybe itís just usage? I feel people werenít so stream heavy 3 years ago?

The only place my phone has even worked is at my resort and itís slow. Two resorts down (Marriott/shops) itís dead. Even the airport it was the struggle bus with no service inside the newish car rental facility. Places other people were using their phones with no issues. Iíd imagine sprint works better hereóIíve seen more sprint panels than AT&T! I havenít seen anything beyond 12 and 2. No 14, etc.

Iím talking basic things like iMessage, Spotify, gmail and maps/CarPlay...itís been useless. When my husband complains, you know itís bad lol.

One last glorious speed test before departing south Maui. Worst cell service Iíve ever ďusedĒ in an area where even sprint works.

Well, I'm now convinced speeds are reduced on the new Unlimited Elite plan. I've noticed this on some, but not all sites I've tested so far. This was in Imlay City MI this evening at Tim Hortons on a site that had bands 14 and 30 added last fall. Did a couple reboots, but it would not do any CA on my S10 and no way is it network congestion.

This was taken early last November on the same tower when I was still on Unlimited and More Premium.
