    Samsung Galaxy A10e (S102DL)

Does anybody have one? Looks like a compelling phone for about $150. It's a Tracfone brand, with a 5.8" screen and with Pie. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with the addictive "free" bundle.

You can get unlocked versions of the Galaxy A10 for cheaper on B&H photo. Better specs too.

Not sure about better. Certainly different specs.

Considerably bigger screen on the A10 vs A10e.

The A10 & A10S being sold on B&H are GSM only. The A10E is universal.

If the A10E is in your price range, I would just wait for the unlocked A20 to go on sale. Much better specs. Just make sure you're buying the US version (whch is universal) if purchasing online.

It's a decent little budget phone with a fantastic display. The only cons are no auto adjust brightness for the display and no fingerprint scanner.

Here's a pic of the retail packaging from Tracfone.

The ST version is going to be $49 at Walmart on BF weekend. Sounds like a sim swap is about to happen...

Can the Tracfone version of the A10e actually be used on AT&T and T-Mobile or only Verizon?

Its model number A102DL ends with "DL", so it should have both CDMA and GSM radios.

way too much $ for a 2gb ram phone especially considering it's running a skin on top of that. sure for $49 on black friday why not. But for 150, you can find a plethora of better specced slightly used flagships online and do BYOP

Then consider LG Stylo 5 currently on sale ($99) at Walmart - https://www.walmart.com/ip/Straight-...hone/266155408. It has 3GB ram but will set you back for additional $50. Turk has reported that it works with both GSM and CDMA sims.

It has only 2GB of RAM but has 32GB of internal memory. $49-$59 is a good price. I'd buy it if I didn't have too many phones already.

I took a quick look at the A10e demo at my local Walmart a few days ago.

I like the idea of the fuller display (smaller bezels) in the given size of the device, but with its 18:9 display ratio it is very narrow, and viewing most sites in portrait mode that narrow-ness would seem to translate to a more cramped keyboard, smaller default font, etc. It's really a skinny device.

Overall regarding most phones I'm not getting the move to 18:9 except for their bragging rights about display size.

18:9 has no real benefits when watching a movie/video that was made in 16:9 ratio, you either have two black bars on the left/right side, or lose some content if the screen is zoomed in to fill those areas. But when reading sites that "free-format" the text (like HoFo), you see more, either longer lines in landscape mode, or more lines in portrait mode.

One of the reasons that the manufacturers are moving to the taller 18:9 is to present more material on the screen but not making the phone too wide that makes it uncomfortable to hold with one hand in portrait mode.
