so what's best way to cancel and move to verizon? My auto pay is scheduled for Nov 4 so guessing I should move the number over on Nov 2 itself?

FIRST you don't cancel at all. Cancelling 1st & poof your #s gone. You port & upon a completed port your original carrier no longer has your number. If you're up to date $ wise that's it.

I believe in CYA in porting issues. So I believe in porting 3-5 business before cycle date. In case of screw ups, weird issues & to avoid another full monthly payment.

But others do port at the last minute. Not my style.

I would do it about 10 days before to be safe. Also turn off auto pay now.
