    Sprint Network Chicago

    Hi Everyone,

Wanted to see how the sprint network is around the Chicago land area vs T-mobile. Im tempted because of sweet deal with SWAC. Is VOLTE ironed out etc.. just wandering.

    Thanks

I have an iPhone XS Max with Sprint and an eSIM T-Moble line.
Generally T-Mobile has a stronger LTE signal except in my basement
where I get no TM service and 2 bars on Sprint.
VoLTE work with my Xs Max and wife’s Xr but not on the two kids’ 6s iPhones.
I have not gotten to try TM out in the boonies but Sprint is only fair for
    the most part.

I have both in the far west suburbs. T mobile is much snappier and consistent while driving around. Sprint will be great in one spot then speeds drop seconds later. The latency for sprint seems much worse. You must wait for the web to respond where t mobile is much quicker. I have SWAC and am holding on for the merger. If it weren't for the hope of future T mobile service on the lines, I would probably cancel my Sprint lines.

Sprint around Chicago is odd, one block i'll be 100+Mbps, next block 3Mbps if i'm lucky. 2500MHz and those old brick buildings do not play well.

T-Mobile is much more consistent, now I will say i do have my fair issues with T-Mobile slowing down as well, and in my all-brick condo VoLTE breaks up on Sprint like bad due it doing it's best to keep a shred of 2500Mhz LTE instead of just handing down to PCS or 800Mhz for the call.

Honestly i'm not sure, I just canned my Sprint line yesterday to be honest (it was last day of billing cycle)

When I was on PCS, my download speeds usually sat around 20Mbps, so it has okay capacity... Sprint just has the network configured to shove the user to 2.5GHz even if it's only barely usable service.

One big issue with this I've heard, is sprint being the only lte carrier running in*tra*band carrier agg instead of in*ter*band. You're on 2500 and 2 channel carrier aggregation? It'll be on 2500+2500, not 2500+1900 or 2500+800 so it can move data onto 1900 or 800 when the 2500 signal gets low.

Been on the service for a while now and I have to say it’s great. There was a number of places when I didn’t have signal with TMobile and now I do. Speed is great and I have no issues
