Got mine today had some issues getting it to work had to contact T-Mobile to fix it but they did that pretty quickly . Most I was getting earlier was 5Mb/s . I’ve got full bars LTE.

I read on several T-Mobile and Reddit forums about issues activating the hotspot device. The activation site wasn't responding and customer service didn't have procedures to activate the device. There is a number you can call that in theory can get you help - 1-833-866-4839.

Best of luck to you guys who can get it to work and have coverage at your location. Unfortunately, the hotspot is nothing but a paper weight for me because T-Mobile has little to no coverage for my house. This experiment just showed me that Verizon and AT&T are leap years ahead of T-Mobile in coverage.

Did you have to sign for the package?

Ordered mine. Last time someone came over with my house T-Mobile was flipping between 1 bar and no service. Curious to see how the speeds are against AT&T. Hotspot should come Tuesday.

Once we have these , hopefully we can see what LTE bands they have in them , and if possible unlock them ,

I would just be happy that any Tmobile prepaid sim / or partner sim will work out of the box ,

I know Tmobiles website says it has all the LTE bands Tmobile uses , but they often do not list all the LTE bands and maybe there are LTE bands for Sprint etc

No matter what its a great deal ,
Wanted: old barnfind VWs and Sports cars ,
save them from the crusher , I have had my tetanus shots so rust does not scare me ,
    anything considered even parts cars

    Connectivity:

    3G: B1/2/4

    4G LTE: B2/4/12/66/71

    Band 71 is 600 MHz.

Time will tell on how difficult it will be to unlock.

Is it possible that connections from Test Drive hotspots would be prioritized during the 30-day trial period (such that it gives a misleading picture of what real service would be if subscribed)?

    Got mine today ,

is there a time limit on when you need it activate it ?

I really do not need the 30GB now , but if I have overseas visitors it would be great to hand it to them to use up the 30GB

    thanks for the info

I have a question for any of you T-Mobile employees:

Do the same domestic and international roaming limits apply to current data only (MBB) plans?
“The Internet wasn’t meant to be metered in bits and bytes, so it’s insane that wireless companies are still making you buy it this way. The rate plan is dead — it’s a fossil from a time when wireless was metered by every call or text.” John Legere 1/5/2017

I got mine today I was going to wait to activate it but I decided to open it up. I turned it on and it was already activated. I didn't need to do nothing

I assume you had to install the sim card , then it would be activated and start your 30 day countdown !

How mine worked, once I put the sim in the hotspot I got an email saying it was activated. Speeds are ok, att is faster by 10-20 Mbps, sometimes 3 times as fast. Only time T-Mobile beat att was in my basement, T-Mobile had speeds of 10-30 Mbps, att was ~5 Mbps.
