May have been mentioned, but when one upgrades phones, apparently, your plan will be converted to one of the newer versions.

If I didn't have such a large balance in my Cricket accnt from discounted gift cards I would have left Cricket. Not having WIFI calling and HD Voice on a BYOD Android is ridiculous especially considering I am using an AT&T branded phone on Cricket.

So even an AT&T branded phone doesn't work with Cricket hotspot?

Man. You know, I'm going to try it this evening with my wife's SIM in a completely up to date AT&T S9+.

I switched to the "more" plan, but it will not work on my Cricket Iphone XR. Cricket said that at this time their software (to be updated??) will not let you use the hotspot. So if you have an Iphone XR it may let you use the hotspot in the future???
    just the facts Ma'am

So maybe an ATT prepaid plan will have HD voice and hotspot for Android BYOD?

Any slick deals for ATT prepaid for 5 lines?

That is not correct. I have both the XR and XS Max on my account and they both work fine with the hotspot feature on the new plan. All you have to do is reboot your iPhone after it has been added.

No, you'll need a VPN to get HD. For me, I can usually get 720p without a VPN, but your mileage may vary.

Regular file downloads, live video streaming (FB live) etc would be full speeds right ? It's just video sites like YouTube, Netflix and maybe Plex ?

I said XR not the same phone. XR is the only iPhone that doesn't work. Spend an hour talking to cricket rep.

Most of the time I can watch Youtube in 720p without any issue. I have an S7 and it is very hard to tell the difference with 480p and 720p on mos videos that I watch. ProtonVPN is free and works pretty good, but I would only use it if I wanted to watch something.

Regular downloads will get the full speed. Not sure about FB live, but Twitch doesn't seemed impacted at all. I don't watch Netflix on my phone, only Youtube. Plex should be ok because you run that through your own server.
