My friend notabiot you know what I have found useful on this website the ignore feature. Since being a member here for over 6 years I think I have used it once. I think I may use it a second time. Lol
Manners cost nothing, and also have the added benefit of making a man. You know, it is entirely possible to rise above others, without stooping to pushing them under, and putting them down.

Apparently you're getting bored of the trolling.

It's sad that the forum has become this mess. It used to be good.

Finally we agree, yes your argument IS asinine.

The government builds roads because ONLY the government can. Internet access on the other hand has a thriving commercial market when justified by demand. In rural areas, there’s not enough demand to justify the investment.

Fiber isn’t “basic”. You can wait a few extra seconds for your Pornhub won’t kill you.

Hard to have demand when your options are 3 Mbps DSL.

The folly in your arguments are simply that your definition of "basic" is drastically different from most. A resident in a rural area may be satisfied and served plenty well enough by a 1Mbps DSL line, and indeed it provides sufficient access to the Internet to do 99% of what a productive citizen might need from an Internet connection. A gigabit class fiber-optic connection is simply unnecessary for "basic" living requirements. To that end, a government subsidy of local telco's to ensure xDSL type service is available is satisfactory.

As others have pointed out to you ad nauseam is that FTTP connections for the entirety of the country is unsustainable and exists in a fantasy world for dozens if not hundreds of different reasons due to complex agreements and local government deals and regulations that are completely outside the purview of the federal government. Maneuvering local laws is what the local people do, and that's why you find government subsidizes businesses rather than rip and replace them entirely.

Let's lay this one to rest.

Yes it is... would you please stop? Maybe take some time to educate yourself and then come back.

If cost were justified there are other options... but the cost isn’t justified.
