HELP : is the $100 ePin "redeem later" deal for free phone dead ?

    Hi

I finally found a Moto E5 play to do the $100 refill and get a free phone deal,

BUT the guy at Tmobile said there was no button to push for "redeem later" and I would have to put the $100 on my new Moto phone and get a new phone number for the Moto E5play .

He kept trying but could not find a way to do it ,

I wanted to put the $100 on my flip phone pay as you go account .

What was he doing wrong ? and how do I help him learn how to do it correctly ?

Or have they changed the deal ?

    Thanks for your help

    To answer my own question......

Today at my local swap meet the Tmobile truck was there , and one of the Tmobile guys knew what I wanted and had it ready for me after I walked the swap meet ,

Moto e5 play with $100 epin to use later , total was $109 with tax/fees ,
no charging me for the sim card that was in the box like last time !

And they did not even ask for my other accounts phone number ,

so yes it can be done , it is just finding the right guy to do it and that they have the phone you want in stock.

Yeah, I bought one at the local T-Mo store last September, and the sales clerk didn't know any other way to do it except to activate a new line and redeem the PIN at activation.

Sent from my moto e5 play using HoFo mobile app

Seems like its dead for people on the old prepaid legacy plan , if it is not on Rebellion , and it says that on the store tablet......

if your prepaid is on Rebellion then maybe its still doable.....

ohh well , it still works if you want a new number and a $40 plan ,

The last time, they wanted me to change to their new system (forget what it's called, *Rebellion) which would have entailed losing my grandfathered Walmart plan. I didn't want to do that, so they just sold it to me outright as if I was a new customer. The time before that, they had to verify I was current customer or else they would charge me for a new sim - even though there's one in the box, or an activation fee..
It might help to have a cooperative clerk/store. Actually, I didn't get much push back but they just got hampered by 'the system'.

If you check my posts upthread I detailed my experience. You already know to ask for the ePins to be 'redeem later', right?

I got my last free phone in Nov. (see above) and still on the $30/Walmart plan. Out the door for $86 including tax.
In a later, more current thread, it looks like @millept got the phone and unlocked.

I got an old E4 unlocked by putting in my working TMO prepaid sim card and adding $100 to the account ,

I used the sim in the E4 a couple days and then requested a full unlock form the TMO screen app , only took a few minutes ,

I will probably wait for the next one until summer , as you only get 2 a year.....

    Current deal:

With purchase of a $150 Simply Prepaid service credit. Choose from the LG K51TM, LG K40TM, LG Aristo® 4+, or Moto E6TM.

Plus device tax. Limited-time offer; subject to change. While supplies last: participating locations only. Must get device & $150+ service in same transaction. $10 SIM Starter Kit may be required. May not be combined with some plans, offers, or discounts.

Would like to know whether deal is truly restricted to Simply Prepaid plans only or can be applied to any prepaid plan (e.g., $30/Walmart plan).

Do you need $100 worth of service? You will still get a year of service with $10.

Yes I know , its my main number for calling and text , so it takes 4-5 months to use up the 1000 minutes/texts ,

But it looks like the connect plan will work out better ,

The free phones were nice when it worked , but now TMO is not servicing the Gold Rewards plan like a regular TMO plan,
its BS saying its on another system now ......

I guess I have too many phones anyway !

Naw, I use them for Mint Mobile hotspots!
Kinda bummed that my retired spare Aristo 2 went to boot loop heaven last year. My original Aristo still kicking it, though. Currently on the Aristo 4, hoping that a 3/32GB phone comes up for the offer.

Anyone pick up the OnePlus Nord N100 phone?
Screen specs aren't great, especially compared to the G Power and just as large. Not sure that I want another 6.5" phone. The G Power feels heavy. Main attractions are that it can be unlocked easily, unless their policy has changed, and the 4GB/64GB configuration. Not sure that the TMo version comes with 90hz screen or if it's only on the international unlocked models. One review I came across said that the 460 processor wasn't powerful enough to take advantage of it. I'm overdue for a phone refresh and the other free options didn't make me tingle.

Just wanted to add this since the free phone with refill purchase is no longer advertised, from reddit:

I'm pretty sure that's still going on, but the eligible phones aren't great (Samsung A03s or Moto G Pure). And the refill amount is $150. I just did this a couple weeks ago though and picked up the A03s as a backup phone... If it helps, my receipt says "PRO-217: Prepaid Device On Us with $150 Purchase"
