Keypad now appears on web interface

This just started happening when I log on to GV on my PC.

I can hide the keypad, but it shows the last several incoming and outgoing voice calls, just like on my phone. This appears on the right side of the screen. I looked through the settings, but didn't see where to show or hide it. Web is not selected for receiving incoming calls, so why is it there?

It's not a big deal, but I accidentally clicked on one of the names in the list and started a web call, which I didn't want to do. Fortunately I was able to hang up.

I'm guessing it's a feature for people who don't have a cell phone or for some reason make a lot of GV web calls.
My smartphone is a lot smarter than I am.

It definitely doesn't work like it does from the legacy GV site, where it uses callback #s when you place a call. The new site tries to initiate a call over the internet, which for me doesn't work from IE or Opera.

Would be nice to hide the entire panel. I only use the website for texting, so it reduces texting real estate.

Exactly. There is a lengthy thread over at the Google Voice Help Community with the same complaints.

I refreshed the page tonight, looks like it's gone.

More specifically, it's gone in the texting function. Present in the VM and calls list.

Really strange. Mine is still there on my main number regardless. It is missing from 2 other GV accounts I have. All three are connected to my Obi202. The main number is also on a couple of phones and iPads using the appropriate GV app. The other 2 accounts are not on any other device. Not sure if that could be the cause or what. Could you try it with one of your other accounts and let us know the results? Thank you!

Tested several other accounts with similar results. Maybe try deleting cookies? None of these are tied the obi directly - they are in use on the pbx via gvsip though. Not sure if that has any relevanceż?

Try a different browser? I was testing in chrome and opera.

I use Chrome on a Windows 10 PC. Tried clearing cookies. No different results. Tried Microsoft Edge, same results as with Chrome - contacts panel with the main number, not there with the other numbers. It must be a setting in GV but I sure can't find it.

In Chrome cleared the cache and browsing history, signed out, restarted and signed back in. Now I have the same behavior on all 3 of my accounts - the contacts panel and dial pad stay regardless if I am looking at voicemail, texts, or calls. And as a bonus, now the panel shows up in all accounts using Microsoft Edge. Bleah!
